The option for change in category, gender and examination city for GATE 2017 applicants is now available on the official portal. The online window to make the changes is available from November 14 to November 22, 2016, till 6pm.
To make any changes, candidates need to pay an extra amount through online banking only; there is no challan facility available.
– For category change, from SC/ST to General/OBC, and from PwD to Non-PwD – Rs 750
– For gender change, from Female to Male/Others – Rs 750
– For changing the examination city – Rs 400
– For GATE paper change, for Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates – Rs 750, and Rest of the applicants – Rs 1,500
Candidates can visit http://appsgate.iitr.ac.in/ and make the desired changes.
For change of category from General/OBC to SC/ST, candidates have to send an e-mail to [email protected], wiht the subject line ‘Gen/OBC to SC/ST’ before November 20, 6pm. They must mention their full name, enrolment ID, and proper documents in attachments to support the category change. There shall be no refund of fees for this change.
