National Institute of Technology, Jaipur

Established in 1963, Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, was given the status of National Institute of Technology on June 26, 2002. Extending into an area of over 317 acres of lush greenery, the campus of the Institute is imaginatively laid-out with a picturesque landscape. The campus consists of the institute buildings, halls of residence and staff colony. It is a residential campus offering accommodation to faculty, staff and students. The campus provides all essential amenities for community living like staff clubs, hospital, bank, post office, community centre, school, staff residences, gymnasium, playing fields, guest houses, 24 Hours internet connectivity, and canteen etc.

The instructional buildings and library have been so located that these are fairly near to both the hostels and the staff quarters and are at a walking distance from both. There is a branch of ICICI Bank Ltd and a Post-office in the campus. A full-fledged dispensary is available on campus with Homeopathic and Ayurvedic doctors too.

The college has two international size basketball courts, a football ground, two tennis courts, badminton and table tennis courts (separate in every hostel, open 24 hours). There is an indoor badminton court in the sports department and a gymnasium. There are three standard volleyball courts.

Studying at MNIT Jaipur

The institute offers eight four-year undergraduate courses of study leading to the Bachelor of Technology degree and a five-year undergraduate course leading to the Bachelor of Architecture degree. Postgraduate degrees award Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) and Master of Urban Planning. There are also doctoral programs with over 300 students.

Admission to undergraduate courses takes into account the performance in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

Admission for post graduate courses namely Master of Technology (M.Tech) is through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch and M.Plan (CCMT) after Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

Admission to M.Sc and PhD is through department’s respective written test followed by interview.

Life beyond the classroom

Blitzschlag is the annual techno-management fest of MNIT Jaipur. It is a three-day-long event held towards the end of January every year and other events are Neuron, Electronica, Moments, MST, Schrifftum, Taal and Zodiac. Neuron is the national level technical festival of MNIT Jaipur.

Placement History    

The placements at NIT Jaipur have been consistently good over the years.
