Department of IT & Analytics had organized a guest lecture on “Career opportunities in Analytics” for the students of PGDM -IT & Analytics – I Year on 16th  January 2018. The speaker for the lecture was Mr. Tarvinder Singh, who is presently working as Data Scientist in Caroobi, Berlin, Germany. He is a Data Science executive having expertise in Business Intelligence, Big Data solutions and analytics and reporting and has experience of 7 years in the multitude of data. In his session ,Mr. Singh discussed the meaning and Scope of IT Analytics. He also gave information about the technical skills required in this field. He explained different job roles like Business intelligence, Data Analyst, Data Scientist etc. Also gave information on the tools required for the job like R, Python, SQL, etc.

He also explained the 5 kinds of work that a Business Analyst must do: Data manipulation, Analysis, Modelling, Reporting, Visualization. He also introduced the MauntyHall game problem and explained to solve it using R. He explained the necessary tools and website like Google Data Studio, Looker, Tableau required for Reporting. As per him, if anyone has Knowledge of Domain and Technology, the scope in Analytics is very high. At the end of session, Prof. Yogita Rawat felicitated Mr. Tarvinder Singh with a memento.
