It was 2006, world cup year. That was the first time I saw this beautiful game. Ball was passed to ZIDANE and he made realize the true meaning of poetry in motion.

By the way, BILL SHANKLY once famously said “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it’s much more serious than that”. There are people who believe in this quote and I am no exception.

Football gives me freedom from all the diversities of life, a freedom from all the responsibilities. It just asks me to express yourself. Be myself.

And yes! I am in a relationship with it, In whatever a bad crisis a person is in football never ditches you. In fact, at the time of crisis football acts as a medicine to cure disappointment. It hugs u with maximum warmth and offers support. It embraces you and whispers to you to not lose hope.

Football might hurt you physically. It might completely drain you out. It might make u feel exhausted; you may end up with broken limbs and ripped apart. But the amount of internal pleasure it enhances is irreplaceable. It unites more than 200 nations in one common language: The beautiful game. It transcends language & location, class & creed.

In the last 7 years of my relationship, I have had the pleasure of watching great personalities. ZIDANE, GERRARD, INIESTA, MESSI, RONALDO, HENRY. Just to name a few. They made my relationship much stronger.

People talk about entertainment. I will say watch an EL CLASSICO. A match between Barcelona and Real Madrid… Arguably the greatest rival teams. One can find emotions, drama, love, hatred, twists. That’s real entertainment. Everything is so special about football, this club structure… club rivalries. those arguments in order to decide which player is better…There is sense of delight in it which holds me strong.

I never had regrets related to football. Only pleasures. I hope this affair continues till the end. Bringing me even more chills down my spine… more heart breakings, more triumph’s, more entertainment. Importantly more FOOTBALL and more of it… and more…
