In this tough global economy, inefficient and ill-informed decision making can mean the difference between success and failure for an organization. All leading organizations are using business analytics/data analytics to compete and thrive. But there is a severe shortage of qualified data scientists, who are able to bring structure to large quantities of form less data. Recognizing the importance of Business Analytics as a discipline and the shortage of qualified data scientists, the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of IIT Hyderabad is conducting its third 6-day certificate course on BusinessAnalytics (weekend course) in April 2015.

The course will provide participants with the knowledge and essential skills needed to address the challenges of data intensive decision-making environments. It is a case-study based course, with participants getting extensive hands-on training using the open source R statistical software, whose popularity has increased substantially in recent years.  It is being offered in week-ends for the ease of working professionals. Participants must have undergraduate level mathematical maturity; experience in any programming language will be an added advantage.
