The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi and Kolkata, has concluded its summer placement process for the batch of 2013-15. A total of 90 companies made offers to the combined batch of 221 (Delhi – 161, Kolkata – 60) students. According to information made available by the institute, 11 students decided to pursue opportunities outside the campus or were on a sabbatical. Stipends were offered to 210 students. A total of 3 students bagged international roles.

Sales & Marketing was the leading domain hiring 34% of the batch. JP Morgan Chase (7 offers), Godrej Industries Ltd (7 offers) and Vodafone (5 offers) were the leading recruiters this year.

Function-Wise Drill Down:

Sales & Marketing: 34% of the batch was hired for roles in this function. ITC, Philips, Colgate Palmolive, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, L’Oreal, Flipkart, Kellogg’s, Eli Lilly, Stryker, McCann Erickson, Madura F&L; offered roles in Retail Marketing.

Finance: 20% of the batch was recruited for roles in finance. Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, HSBC and Nomura offered roles in Investment Banking. Citibank offered roles in Consumer Banking while Royal Bank of Scotland offered Risk Management roles. Edelweiss and Langham Capital hired for profiles in Equity Markets. Corporate Finance roles were offered by TATA Capital, Philips, Vodafone and Flipkart. RPG, Amway, ICRA, IL&FS;, Singhi Advisors hired for Private Equity roles.

General Management: Mahindra, Airtel, RPG and Godrej Properties Ltd offered profiles in Business Development. L&T; hired for Corporate Strategy. Other firms which hired for this function included Hero MotoCorp, Robert Bosch and BenQ.

Consulting: Corporate Executive Board, Cognizant Business Consulting, HP, and Orkash offered Consulting profiles. Russell Reynolds and Alexander Hughes hired for HR Consulting.

Trade: WTO, US Embassy, Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, ITC hired students for Exports. Noble Group, Rockfort International, Adani Wilmar and Torero were some of the other recruiters.

Operations & SCM: Dabur International, Biocon, Stryker, JSPL, Trident, Mahindra Comviva and DSCL offered Operations profiles. AT Foods hired for Sourcing.

Sector-Wise Drill-Down:

BFSI: Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, HSBC and Nomura offrd investment banking roles. Edelweiss, Langham Capital, TATA Capital, Singhi Advisors offered profiles in Private Equity.

FMCG: ITC, Dabur International, Kellog’s, Colgate Palmolive, L’Oreal, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, SAB Miller, Hector Beverages, Amway and Reitzel hired for Sales & Marketing roles in this sector.

Consulting: Corporate Executive Board, Cognizant Business Consulting, Orkash, Dexter, Russell Reynolds and Alexander Hughes hired students in this sector.

IT/ITES: HP, Aricent, Interglobe, TCS, WIPRO, HCL were some of the recruiters in this sector.

Healthcare: Biocon, Eli Lilly and Stryker offered Operations and Sales & Marketing roles.

Trade: WTO, Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, Noble Group, Rockfort International, Adani Wilmar, Torero and STC hired for roles in this sector.

Consumer Goods: Philips offered Sales & Marketing and Corporate Finance profiles. Other roles were offered by Titan, BenQ and Daikin.

Manufacturing: TATA Steel, Hero MotoCorp, JSPL, Robert Bosch, DSCL, Croda hired in this sector.

Conglomerate: Mahindra, RPG, L&T; offered roles in Corporate Strategy. Linde Group also recruited students.

E-commerce & Retail: Flipkart, Google, Redbus and Madura F&L; were some of the recruiters.

Media: McCann Erickson and Law & Kenneth offered roles in Media.

Telecom: Airtel, Vodafone and Mahindra Comviva hired students in this sector.

Others: US Embassy, Godrej Properties Ltd and Rakshak Foundation were some of the recruiters across some other sectors.
