During one of my several GD/PI processes this season, an aged panelist of a reputed B-school in the capital, who was illustrating all the signs of a “Senior Marketing Professor” on his face asked me, “You did your MBBS from a government medical college, then joined government service, then left it for your private practice, and then you want to do MBA…!! You are entirely confused in your life, you don’t know what to do…..”

I replied romantically as if I was convincing my girlfriend about the drawbacks of shopping, “Sir, do you doubt the credibility of Prasoon Joshi, Harsha Bhogle, Sachin Pilot, Chetan Bhagat…? Because the renowned lyricist, cricket commentator, politician and full time author, their present profession may have no direct relevance with their age-old MBAs. I wonder you think they were confused…”

I knew it was beyond the paramaters of a safe interview. The “Bete ek baar baahar mil…” looks of the respected professor tighten my ribs. Although I kept on enjoying the opportunity as I already proposed for rejection. He was constantly scowling at me throughout the discussion.

Finally, he asked me, “MBA karne ke baad kya karoge..?”

I said, “Sir IAS ki taiyari karunga…”

And I wonder I still converted the call !!!
