India is a country with the second highest population in the world. With so many people around, competition automatically goes up. A few years ago, there were only 100 engineering colleges in India, but now, there are more than thousands of engineering colleges. With the increase in population, the competition is increased even more.

Finding a job in India is not as easier now as it was years ago. The demand is low while the supply is high. Another fault is with our education system. There are jobs, but our youngsters do not possess enough skills to be qualified for these jobs. So, what do we do now? How to get a job with so much competition out there? Here are some tips for effective job searching in India.

Know yourself and find your goal

Do not just go out there and start looking for a job. First, know yourself and find what you are good at. If you are good at web development and really want to do that, go for it. Set a goal for yourself and go ahead to the next step. But, if you do not know what you want to do or what you are good at, it is time to think about it.

Prepare yourself

No matter if it is a private job or a government job, both will check your skills before they hire you. Be prepared for the job and the task. If you are going to apply for a job, you must have the confidence that you can crack it. Do what it takes. Study by yourself or join a coaching and prepare with full dedication.

Job resources

Once you are prepared for the competition or are preparing for the same, you should start looking out for the job interviews or exams. Find helpful job resources including newspaper, online job portals, career news and websites. Take the help of a mentor if you need to. Go online and search for jobs in your field. There are thousands of job portals online. Register yourself and apply for the job.

*Note: In case, if you have not yet prepared a resume, this is the best time to have one. Make an effective resume and upload it to all the job websites.

Act Immediately

Every job opening and recruitment exam comes with an expiry date. So, you better know about it soon and apply as soon as possible. Take the help of some good online career resources to stay notified about a new opening and apply immediately.

Keep Patience

If you are not successful today, that doesn’t mean that you can never be successful. Keep patience and wait for your turn. Stay prepared and give your best when the opportunity arrives
