It was 3rd July 2013 when I entered an institution (JIMS, Sector-5, Rohini) that changed my life by giving me a new perspective of looking at things like think out of the box, never cry but always try. I was ready to join a B-school & I shortlisted JIMS amongst all the options available taking into consideration all the necessary parameters that make up the final choice.
Soon when I entered into JIMS I realized that learning is a never ending process because every day I am learning something new. “Time Management” is what I find JIMS has made me learn as here we have a trimester mode of examination, “soft skills” which are important for us to communicate, express and present ourselves.
And now since I have completed my one trimester, lot many events and activities from Interactive Sessions to Summits to Live Projects to Examinations have changed me as a whole. I learn, relearn daily. The Constant Industry Interaction through workshops, guest lectures, seminars, conferences have developed in me the “Art of Networking”. Now I realize that it’s not only by enrolling myself to an MBA Course makes me employable but my knowledge quotient, practical exposure and corporate connections will make me ready for my future.
At JIMS, I have come across plethora of activities that have transformed me into a goal-oriented individual. We gain academic knowledge, leadership abilities and practical exposure through various curricular and co-curricular activities conducted under different clubs like Finance Club, Marketing Club & International Business Club. I have learnt at JIMS that MBA Education is beyond placements, it’s all about revamping yourself with all the possible opportunities available.
We from today itself have started leading various roles – Event Manager, Finance Manager, Team Leader, Program Coordinator. The academic and extracurricular events have given us opportunity to work with our faculties acting mentors to us. JIMS has also given a platform to give our idea a vision through “Tarkash”; Entrepreneurship Cell which aims at manifesting the latent entrepreneurial spirit of the youth.
Working with the Placement Cell; CRMC (Corporate Resource Management Centre) has helped us to understand the intricacies of the corporate world and art of building and maintaining relationships and networks. We as a team of students & faculty work together to maintain cordial relations with the corporate & invite them for industry academia interface.
Industrial visits held every month add to our practical and knowledge quotient. With visits to many manufacturing plants like Honda, Yakult, Bisleri, Maruti etc. has given us learning and understanding of the manufacturing processes.
One thing which I understand now is that there is no such thing called free lunch rather everything has its own opportunity cost, it is now my responsibility to convert every opportunity that comes my way. Further I as a student of JIMS would like to grow along with JIMS & continue to learn from JIMS Family and would definitely love to bring pride to my family, college and nation.
