The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has postponed the final registration date for the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) from January 9 to January 22, 2012.

The decision to postpone the date was taken as some state universities including that of Maharashtra, Kerala and Rajasthan scrapped their own management admission tests and agreed to accept CMAT scores for admission to MBA programmes. AICTE is also in talks with other state universities for acceptance of CMAT scores.

SS Mantha, Chairman, AICTE, had earlier claimed that the regulatory body wished to give students ample chance to register for the exam, which is why the registration date was postponed.
