The much awaited CAT 2016 notification is finally out. Registration for the exam will begin on August 8 and end on September 22, 2016 at 5 pm. Admit Cards will be available from October 18 till the day of the exam.

This year IIM Bangalore is conducting the exam and Prof Rajendra K Bandi has been appointed CAT Convenor. CAT 2016 exam will be a pre-requisite for admission to some 20 Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) across the country, besides a host of other management institutes.

Candidates can select any four cities as their choice of exam centre. The exam itself will be held in two slots on the same day and in some 135 cities.

The duration of the exam will be 180-minutes and there will be three Sections, namely Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability.

Like last year, a tutorial to understand the test structure will be available  on the CAT website (www.iimcat.ac.in) from October 18.

The notification asks that aspirants to email their queries to [email protected] or dial 1-800-266-3549 (Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm). CAT 2016 results will be declared in the second week of January 2017.

While the score cards of the exam results will be available on the CAT website, candidates may also be individually notified via SMS.
