My name is Rahul. I am an
electrical engineer by education. Sounds too familiar right !! An engineer from
an ordinary college clearing IBPS feeling proud enough to share his
“success story”. No my friends. This is not a success story at
all..!! This post is just to describe how I kept hanging holding on to the end
of the rope.

I was supposed to graduate in year 2013. I was placed in a firm of
repute. Those who are curious for them I would tell that company was L&T.
Everything was fine, looking really good. Like most of the other people from
one particular state of eastern India I was also thinking about Sarkari Naukri
in general and Civil Services in particular.

But as fate would have it I
failed in my 7th semester exams in one paper. And I could not clear it during
my 8th sem exams too..! I lost my placement. I had year back (or yb) stamped on
me..!

One more amazing thing
happened..! that year civil services CSAT was on 26th of may. That was before
the final results of my engineering were announced. I cleared CSAT but couldn’t
write mains because I hadn’t graduated. I wrote the engineering paper again in December
2013 and failed again..!! That particular paper (PSAS) had become an albatross
around my neck.

I had written the IBPS III
examination that year too. I had 92 marks but I was not selected for interview
because I had only 6 marks in reasoning. That was a really dumb mistake to
make..! All in all I had lost everything I had and basically nothing more to
look forward to. It was funny the way my life was tying itself into knots.
Future IAS to failed engineer in just 6 months..!! and I still had to pass the
engineering exam.

So what I did was I kept hanging.
Just kept hanging. Most of you who think that an engineer is automatically good
in aptitude and reasoning, I am a living example of how much wrong you are.

Here is a list of competitive
exams I wrote and that I failed:

GATE 2013- AIR 13000

CAT 2012- 90.54 percentile

CSAT 2013

IBPS CWE III- Not selected

CAT 2014- unmentionable score

GATE 2014- Even more disgusting

SBI PO 2014 – Not selected

SBI Associate PO 2014 – Not selected

A number of other sarkari exams
for junior engineer, even diploma engineer apart from Airforce and SSC and what
not. I have even lost the count of
exams I wrote and failed.

See..!! I told you..!! This is
not a success story..!! This is a story of how I didn’t lose hope. My situation
was worse than a spinster. My parents had lost hope and that was the worst
feeling. Those days I got the chance to do some solitary contemplation and
to reflect on my situation. Basically those days I started to feel ” Sab
moh maya hai”. At this point I would like to say what motivated me
again was the guy who used to distribute newspaper in my locality. He managed
to get into good institution on his own.

So cutting my story short. I managed
to pass that engineering paper. No, hell no. Not with flying colours. Barely.
And I started to prepare for IBPS. Pagalguy proved to be a very worthy companion. The mock tests with difficulty levels are
a really novel idea. Such a big platform for all career sincere guys was
something really very what to say, comforting. Like bringing me back to the
solid ground of reality and hope. With motivating posts and what not. So
finally I have managed to clear this year’s IBPS CWE IV. I had 101 marks in the
online test and 65 in interview. I have been allotted Bank of India.

So all my friends and fellow puys
out there who have been selected this year Hearty congratulations to all of
you. Those who have missed don’t worry..!! The most important thing is once you
lose out one particular year it’s really difficult to hold onto the preparation
for one long year and write the exam again next year. But know it and make it
clear to yourself that you can do it..!!

All The Best!
