All about making a difference

The Asian School of Business creates informed and inspired professionals. ASBs AICTE-approved PGDM Program aims to mould world-class management professionals with a range of analytic, strategic and leadership skills. ASB transforms students to become leaders and managers in a globalized world economy.

Governing Board: The Essence of Professional Aristocracy

ASB enjoys the benefit of guidance from a Board of Governors, comprising professionals and academics, with impeccable credentials, both in India and abroad. They include Dr. S. Ramadorai, former CEO of TCS and currently Advisor to the Prime Minister; Professor Samuel Paul, former Director, IIM-A and Advisor to the World Bank; Professor Prakash Apte, former Director IIM-B; Mr. Arun Kumar, Board Member, KPMG, California; Mr. George M. Thomas, Patron, ASB; Mr. Vijaya Raghavan, Founder-CEO, Technopark.

ASB’s Faculty, the Key Differentiator

ASBs autonomy empowers it to be truly innovative. The faculty has complete freedom to pick and choose the best content and teaching methods. In February 2012, DNA & Stars of Industry Group honored ASB with an award for B-Schools who innovate in Teaching Methodology.

ASB has a robust mix of faculty and practicing professionals, together providing a unique combination of academic and practical learning. Several of the full-time faculties are from IIM-A, each with over 30 years of professional experience in business and academics.

The Director, Prof. S. Rajeev, from the Stanford Business School, has over 30 years of experience in USA and in India, including at IIM-B, IIM-A and IIM-K.

ASB attracts visiting faculty for key subjects, most of them alumni of IIM’s, with extensive professional experience.

The Academic Programs

The most important program is the two-year, full-time residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). This course has been designed by a team of experts. The depth and breadth of coverage of the curriculum for PGDM, providing a firm general management foundation, is as good as the best management education anywhere in the world.

Other programs include short term Management Development Programs and those tailor-made to the requirements of specific companies.

In July 2011, Business Digest recognized ASB as No. 2 among private business schools in Kerala.

Participatory Learning

At ASB, management is not taught but learnt. ASB’s unique process of delivering the curriculum is based on participatory learning. The faculty plays the role of a facilitator, a guide, a coach, making them more than just a teacher.

Case studies, simulations, role-plays, group projects and presentation by students add to the excitement of learning at ASB. Technology is a close ally in this process. Dedicated wireless connectivity within the campus helps the students in accessing the course-ware and the Web on their laptops.

International Networking

ASB currently has exchange programs with the Kansas University School of Business. We have also signed other agreements with European Universities and are in discussion with others in Korea.

Placement of ASB Alumini

ASB’s placement list includes KPMG, Ernst & Young, HP Global, HDFC, ICICI Bank, IBS, SunTec, UST Global, Kotak Mahindra Bank, PWC, TCS, Accenture, Forbes Marshall, Cancor, Bluestar and Feedback Consulting.

“ASB is producing leaders for emerging Asia, especially those who understand entrepreneurship and the needs of rural markets.
These are the growth areas of the Asian Century, and our up-to-date curriculum equips students to succeed in them”-

Professor S. Rajeev
