SOIL is proud to announce that in its constant endeavor to create the best learning opportunities for our students, SOIL has recently tied up with three international business schools to facilitate student exchange programs. These new Strategic Alliances across the world are based on the shared belief that the new generation of leaders must have a deep understanding and appreciation of global businesses and related challenges. A brief description of the three schools follows.

MIP, Italy

In 1979, a group of leading Italian CEOs expressed the need for a business school, where business executives could further develop their management skills. The business school MIP was thus created out of a collaboration between key Italian companies and Politecnico di Milano, one of the most prestigious Italian universities, well known for its tradition in excellence in technology and innovation. In 2003 MIP joined the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering forming the School of Management of Politecnico diMilano. It covers numerous areas of research, education and high level consultancy in the fields of economics, management and industrial engineering, which Politecnico di Milano undertakes through its own structures and those of the consortium.

Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI) Seattle, US

In early 2002, Libba Pinchot, Gifford Pinchot III and Sherman Severin founded BGI as an alternative to the traditional business school model for students wanting to integrate values about social justice and environmental sustainability into their business education. Jill Bamburg joined them in the summer of 2002 as the Founding Dean and the fourth founder.

They are the first business school to offer an MBA in Sustainability and are ranked in the top 5 sustainable business schools in the US. They offer part time and evening MBA classes to working professionals and have 450 alumni. Their students come from diverse personal and professional backgrounds, including companies like Hewlett Packard, Weyerhaeuser, Starbucks and Microsoft; non-pro?t enterprises like Climate Solutions, Global Exchange and The Oregon Natural Step; and government agencies at the local, state and federal levels.

University of New Brunswick, Saint John, Canada

One of the top five comprehensive universities in Canada, according to Macleans, UNB has more than 12,000 students from more than 100 countries. As the largest research institution in New Brunswick, UNB conducts 80 per cent of the provinces research. The university has more than 3,500 faculty and staff, and an annual operating budget of more than $160 million. UNBs two main campuses are located in Fredericton and Saint John (started in 1964), New Brunswick. UNB offers over 60 degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a total student enrollment of approximately 12,000 between the two principal campuses.
