Introduction
ISME is a part of NVT Quality Educational Trust promoted by NVT Group. NVT Group of companies is a certification, training and consulting service organization based in Bangalore, India and having offices throughout India and USA. NVT has been a leader in the area of quality management and business process improvement over the last decade and has certified organizations including educational institutions all over the world for ISO 9001:2000. Academics
The faculty at ISME are alumni from many of the top business schools in India and abroad. Many courses at ISME are taken by faculty who are alumni from CMU, Purdue, Wharton, USA; IITs, IIMs and other top business school. The Director, Mr Nitin Garg is an IIT Bombay alumni and has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, USA.
ISME has a very unique management programme format and is of one and half year duration on the lines of many European management schools. This course design also adopts many features of management schools like CMU and Purdue which allows students to have a focused and broad based learning experience.
Another unique feature of ISME is that the courses are very industry focused and have been approved by the Ministry of Industries and Commerce, Government of India.
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
ISME has partnered with Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Bangalore to award all ISME’s students in the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) course, a Black Belt in Six Sigma. This is a very expensive course in the open market and ISME students will benefit from this without paying any extra fees.
The program consists of providing Green belt training and then an on site management consulting project for three months in the area of their specialization at top companies under the guidance of experts, wherein the students will use the management and Six Sigma concepts learned in the classroom for solving real world business problems within their area of specialization. On successful completion of the project they will attend Black Belt program at ISME and become Six Sigma Black Belt certified by ISI (Indian Statistical Institute). Worldwide Motorola, Honeywell, GE and most other top organizations extensively use this methodology for resolution of many of their problems and have reportedly saved billions of dollars. ISME is the only institute in the world developing their students to solve problems on a scientific basis, which will be a great resource and excellent managers for the organization where they join. According to Prof. Ramesh Tagat, Academic Mentor at ISME and former Professor at IIM Bangalore, “This is a distinct professional orientation to a unique academic programme at ISME”.
Student Life
ISME has a rich mixture of students from various academic backgrounds with an excellent balance of work experience, gender and ethnicity, who come from over 10 different states in India.
ISME’s vibrant student community has a lot of opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Students can lead and participate in Academic, Social and Literary clubs. Student clubs and extra curricular activities enhance student interactions and foster the development of a wholesome personality providing a solid framework for life-long success.
The literary club brings out a bi-monthly magazine ‘ExCEL’ (Excellence in Culture, Education and Leadership). The social club provides an outlet to the ISME community to come together for cricket matches, Diwali and other functions.
The corporate relations cell along with the academic club regularly arranges visits from senior industry leaders. Infrastructure and Location
ISME is in the heart of the Whitefield area of Bangalore. It is strategically located in Export Promotion Industrial Park and is just one block away from Information Tech Park (ITPL). In the vicinity of ISME there are over 500 offices of some of the biggest international companies which will help students for training and placement opportunities. ISME has a sophisticated Wi-Fi Computer Lab, air-conditioned classrooms, executive board room and all facilities for a very nice academic environment.
