You might hate him. You might love him. But you can’t ignore him. The History of Politics was re-written on 8th December 2013 when the Delhi Election Results came out and displayed that the citizens are waking up and demanding a lot more than what they demanded earlier. In the light of Aam Admi Party (AAP) sweeping the elections this year, here are top 3 Management Lessons MBA Students and Leaders in making can learn from Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and his party workers

1) Have a clear Mission

Mr Arvind always had a very clear mission statement. His stand was against corruption. The vision and the mission stated by AAP were crisp and consistent. They dint change at any given point and the consistency helped create ‘Brand recall’ for the audience. Standing against corruption almost became synonymous to AAP

2) Involve your audience

AAP created different manifestos for the 70 constituencies in Delhi. They considered each constituency as an individual with unique problems and dint suggest a common solution. This customized solution approach was very attractive

3) Treat the audience as an individual

Unlike the other parties, AAP organised door to door campaigns where volunteers visited their citizens as an individual. While the other parties were busy in bringing people together in groups for their rallies, AAP focused on spreading the message with a personal message through smaller but more effective personalized campaigns

The future of Delhi may seem vague at the moment with no party as a clear winner, but AAP seems to have brought a new wave. Time will determine lots of things but for now AAP seems to be a revolution and one can benefit from observing their model.
