Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, popularly known as MSIT Delhi, was established in Janakpuri in 1972. The name of the institute was derived from the inspirational Maharaja Surajmal.

The institute is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The All Indian Council of Technical Education approved the institute in 2001.

MSIT offers many engineering courses for students on different academic levels like undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. B. Tech and M. Tech courses include specializations in Production Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Town and Country Planning, Process Metallurgy, Information Security and Management, Biomedical Instrumentation etc.

Other doctorate courses include specializations in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering etc.

Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology ranking is 46th for engineering by India Today in 2019. The institute is rated in category ‘A’ by SFRC.

National Assessment and Accreditation Council have also given ‘A’ grade to the institute. The institute has been recognized by the University Grants Commission. The Times has ranked the institute 5th among other top colleges in a survey 2018.

The institute has Sh. Kaptan Singh as the chairman of the institute. There are five departments in the institute namely Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering and Applied Sciences. Prof. K. P. Chaudhary is the director of the institute and many faculty members run the institute under him.

Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, Delhi offers many undergraduate engineering courses such as B. Tech, B.  All the applicants are admitted to many engineering programs offered by the Institute on the basis of results of JEE Mains/ IPU CET score. Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is followed by a counselling round conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (SAA). This counselling round is followed by a personal interview round.

Candidates are required to get a certain score in the qualifying exam for admission in a particular course. Certain JEE score is required by the candidates for admission in the B. Tech and B. MSIT Delhi Result and Cut off

The cut off list is announced after the IPU CET results are declared. The final selection of the institute is based on the cut off score in IPU CET. B. Tech candidates are required to cross the IPU CET cut off mark in order to get admission in the particular course.
