SSC CHSL 2018 Exam Information

SSC CHSL 2019 Notification will be released in January by SSC for the following posts:

  1. Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
  2. Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant (PA/SA)
  3. Data Entry Operator(DEO)

Applications for SSC CHSL 2018 will begin tentatively on 19th January 2019. Tier-I Exam will be conducted in May/June 2019 (tentative). The SSC CHSL Exam is conducted by Staff Service Commission for Higher Secondary Level eligibility (Std. XII and above).

SSC CHSL vacancies for 2017-18 had been increased to 5134 posts. Tentative vacancies for the posts of LDC/ JSA was 1856; for Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant was 3267 and DEO was 2 openings.


SSC has not released SSC CHSL 2018 Exam  Notification but based on previous years trend, here is the tentative schedule of events:

SSC CHSL Eligibility

To be eligible to appear for SSC CHSL, candidates must fulfil minimum requirements related to nationality, education and age limit. Below is a detailed description of SSC CHSL 2018 Eligibility Criteria –

I. SSC CHSL 2018 Age Limit

Candidate should be aged between 18 and 27 years old (both ages inclusive) as on 1st August 2019.

As per GoI regulations, the following categories are allowed to apply for relaxation in upper age limit for SSC CHSL Exam –

SSC accepts applications for SSC CHSL only in On-line Mode. Candidates need to apply online through the official website, The SSC Application portal link has been listed below, applicants must select relevant tab, i.e., CHSL.

SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Pattern

Tier-I is the first stage of SSC CHSL Recruitment Process.

Question Type: Objective – Multiple choice questions only.

Mode: Computer-Based

There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Language: Hindi or English. Papers written in part Hindi and part English, will not be accepted.

The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent. Tier II marks would be included for preparing merit.

SSC CHSL Admit Card

Admit Card for SSC CHSL 2019 will be released separately for each stage by Staff Selection Commission. SSC releases only E-Admit Card and no physical copy will be sent to candidates. Candidate must download Admit Card from appropriate Regional SSC page. Candidates will require SSC Registration ID and the Password/DoB while logging in.

For Tier-I Exam, all eligible candidates will be able to download their Admit Card around 10 to 15 days prior to exam from official SSC website – All candidates qualifying the Tier-I exam will be able to download the Tier-II Admit Card from the same website and the same procedure will be applicable for Tier-III Admit Card.
