SBI Clerk 2019 Exam Information

A clerk is a person that is employed in order to look after the administrative works of the office. The SBI clerk work includes back office work like ledger maintenance, data entry, etc.  The role of the clerk in a bank is very crucial. He is the one who addresses the queries and is the first person to-go for every customer in a bank. This exam facilitates the recruitment of junior associates who are placed in different branches of SBI all over the country. They facilitate client interaction. The designation that the candidates are recruited for are cashiers, depositors, and such other related posts that are placed in the Bank.

To appear for this exam, the candidates need to first fill an application form. This form is available online. The candidates then appear for a preliminary exam. On clearing this exam, the candidates will then proceed to appearing for the main exam. The official notification announcing the examination dates is posted on the official site of SBI.

The preliminary exam is conducted online and carries 100 marks. The duration of exam is 1 hour. The questions are objective type and a total of 100 questions are asked. The questions carry 1 mark each. There is a system of negative marking for every wrong answer. 0.25 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

The main exam is following the preliminary exam which is of 200 marks. This paper is for a duration of 2 hours and 40 minutes. There will be a local language test for the candidates who clear main exam.  If the candidates have a 10th or 12th mark sheet certifying that they have studied the local language, they need not appear for the local language test.

2.1 Short Description:

The SBI Clerk Exams are conducted once in a year. The examination is conducted every year. The notifications regarding the same are issued mostly in the months of January and February. The notification for announcement of the important dates for the year of 2019 has not been issued yet. However, tentative dates are made available to the students to ensure that they receive a rough idea of when to expect the examinations to be conducted.  These dates will help the candidates to prepare themselves in advance and stay upgraded with the entire process.

3.2.1. Nationality:

  • The candidate willing to appear for SBI Clerk exam should be an Indian holding an Indian citizenship.
  • If a candidate is a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, a refugee from Tibet who has migrated to India with the intention of settling in India permanently, on or before 1st of January 1962 is eligible to appear for this examination.
  • Candidates who are persons of Indian origin and have migrated to India from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Kenya, Burma, Vietnam with the intention of settling in India permanently are eligible to appear for SBI Clerk examination.
  • Persons of Indian Origin, who have migrated from east African countries like Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi intending to settle in India permanently can also appear for SBI Clerk Exam.

The above candidates who are persons of Indian Origin need a certificate to that effect from the Government of India which they must present along with the list of documents.

SBI Clerk 2019 Registration

4.1 Short Description:

The process of Registration of SBI Clerk Exam is very easy. The application form for registering for the examination is made available online. The form needs to be filled with the details that are asked for. The details must be true. In order to complete the process of application, a fee needs to be paid. The fee can be paid online, through net banking, credit card or debit card.

4.2  Application Process pointers:

SBI Clerk 2019 Exam Pattern

5.1 Short Description:

As mentioned above, the exam pattern consists of two rounds. The preliminary round and the Main Examination. Both the rounds are objective type. SBI Clerk 2019 Admit Card

 7.1. Short Description:

Candidates shall be allowed to appear for the examination only on producing the Admit Card. This card will be made available online. The candidate must log in with the email Id and personal password that is issued to them after registration. After Logging in, the candidate can download their admit cards. SBI Clerk 2019 Result

Once the preliminary and main examinations are conducted, the SBI Clerk Examination Results are declared. These are declared shortly after each exam. First, the result of preliminary examination is declared following which the results of main examination are put out. There is a system of sectional cut-off. This means that the candidate must secure the minimum marks in each section individually to make it to each cut-off list and then ultimately to the merit list.
