IRMASAT 2026 Exam Information

Admission to IRMA is now conducted based on the scores obtained by candidates in national-level management entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, or CMAT. Shortlisted candidates are invited to appear for the Personal Interview (PI) conducted at the IRMA campus. Final selection is based on the overall performance in the entrance exam score, Personal Interview, and other evaluation criteria prescribed by IRMA.

1. Entrance Exam Requirement (No Separate IRMASAT)

IRMA no longer conducts a standalone IRMASAT exam. Instead, admission to its flagship PGDM / MBA in Rural Management program is based on scores from any one of the following national-level exams:

  • CAT (Common Admission Test)

  • XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

  • CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)

Candidates must register and appear for at least one of these exams in the relevant academic year.

2. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for IRMA admission, candidates must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 15 years of education: 10+2+3 pattern).

  • Have at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) in graduation.

  • Final-year students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete graduation within the stipulated timeline.

3. Shortlisting Process

After receiving CAT/XAT/CMAT scores:

  • IRMA prepares a cut-off percentile for each exam.

  • Candidates meeting the minimum cut-off are shortlisted.

  • Shortlisted candidates are invited for further selection rounds.

Cut-offs may vary each year depending on:

  • Number of applicants

  • Difficulty level of exams

  • Available seats

4. Selection Rounds at IRMA

Shortlisted candidates must appear for:

🔹 Personal Interview (PI)

  • Conducted at designated IRMA centers.

  • Evaluates communication skills, rural sensitivity, leadership qualities, and clarity of career goals.

🔹 Written Ability Test (if applicable)

5. Final Selection Criteria

Final admission is based on a composite score, which generally includes:

  • Entrance exam score (CAT / XAT / CMAT weightage)

  • Personal Interview performance

  • Academic performance (10th, 12th, Graduation)

  • Work experience (if any)

  • Diversity factors (gender / academic background)

The weightage distribution may vary slightly each year.
