CAT 2013 candidates have finally knocked on the doors of the High Court in Delhi to seek redressal to their issues. Ever since the CAT 2013 results were announced on January 14, some candidates have been asking for a re-evaluation with a stress on seeing their raw scores. Candidates have also been urging for a clearer explanation on the normalisation process used to determine the scores. The case is expected to come up for hearing in a a couple of days time.

Abhishek Leel who is one of those spearheading the campaign said that the CAT examination process has to be far more transparent than what it is.

CAT 2013 applicants have also filed RTIs to find out more on their results. In fact, a similar plea in a court in Indore, some days ago, met with failure when the judge asked the students to wait for the RTI replies before filing a separate legal process.

The main grouse according to the complaint is that many have secured unexpected scores in one of the two sections (mostly in verbal). “There are people who scored 99.xx in Quant but a meagre 20 something in verbal section and some of them seen unexpected score in Quant section as well,” added Abhishek.

CAT, the most high profile admission exam among all in the management studies has come under fire for a while now. Last year with the tampering of 80 scores, and this year for alleged unexpected scores.
