hi,
yes u can avail loan from MEFA, but i think u need a U.S co signor for that.
regarding scholarships, the fee earlier was $40000 but now they hav reduced it to $22500.
so you will be given an automatic scholarship if u join this aug.
having said that, if u get above 700 in GMAT , u can seriously bargain.....
total cost for you guys shall be $22500=fees + 3500=pre mba+8000 living.
take a budget of $36000
the GMAT required is not very high. if you are over 600, guess u will make it,
but they like people with high work exp.
some statistics about our class are as under.
total students=69
nationalities represented=23
average GMAT=590-600
average age=30
age range= 22-47
faculty=A grade
some information regarding the institue and other e.t.c is as under;
actually this is a very old school. it was formerly known as the arthur d little school of management. the faculty of the school can be compared to the best.
the economics professor is a senior partner with Arthur D little and is Phd from cornell.
the finance prof is CPA+MBA+BA+doctroate from harvard.
the accounts prof is MBA from Stern, formelry with Citibank and is widely published.
the H.R prof is Harvard grad and is consultant to IBM.
the other fin prof is on the board of harvard.
the course content and the methodolgy of instruction is impressive,
we have 11 indian students in the current batch,
one guy was G.M at siemens,
one was project manager at TCS,
one is a CA and was deputy manager at Indo Rama,
one is a Phd from singapore,
one guy from japan will join back as partner
one guy from korea has an offer for V.P
again the list is long.....
regarding Boston, it is one of the most amazing places i have seen,
and again it is close to NYC also,
regarding the shortcomings,
the students are very diverse,
from countries like vietnam to japan to mexico to philipines...
hence the students are not that competitive......
regarding the infrastructure.....
the institue does not have its library,
but at the same time u are given a libarary card and u can access 18 libraries all over
boston including those of MIT and BU e.t.c
the college is very small and operates from EF building.( they will be shifting to a bigger campus in a short while).
the career servies cell has nothing to offer....
u hav to be on your own to get a job.

I was browsing the hult website and saw this info in the finaid section -
Hult also as an exclusive relationship with Erika Finance, a loan program set up specifically for international students who do not have access to a US-based co-signer. Rates are fixed at 5% over five years. | | | | | | | |

I am terribly interested in Hult. I know what I will learn and what I won't. What scares me is the job prospects after that. I really cannot imagine investing 20lakhs and having to worry about my job. From what I have heard (known) most people go back to their respective countries to get a job. Since anyways they bring in rich experience with them, this 1 year international exposure gives them value for money. But for a desi guy coming back to India is a risky proposition anyday.

dear friends,
right now the institute is ranked only by EIU.
it was ranked 22nd best in the world and is considered as the most international b school.
FT would be ranking hult this year.
arun has rightly ponted out the fact that most of the students frm hult go back to their respective countries. we have with us a lot of japenese, korean and european students, who have no intention of staying in U.S. The implication is that the alumni of Hult is scaterred around the world.
now placements is a tricky part. regarding our senior batch, one guy has gone back to India. i think he is placed between 15 to 20 lacs.
the rest are still searching......
there was 1 guy from the previous batch. he was placed at $120000.
havinng said that it is both funny and surprising that after graduating from hult people generally do well...two of our alumni are in india. One is in a senior position with infosys and the other is the executive diector in tata.
i now everybody has a lot of concern abt placements. so the trick is to start early.
the moment you join hult, in 6 months time start your job search.
moreover hult has also expanded their career services network, which should be helpful.
and ofcourse i will get in touch with my seniors and giv you all the detals abt the placements and the rest.
regarding loan, you can avail it from erica finance also.
regards,

Hi Sumit,
I looked at the website and it seems that the cost of pursing MBA is much higher than you suggested. The fees + other expense comes to around $50K. Please comment on this as you would be in a better position to comment on this. Also how are the people managing to get Jobs without a career service ?
