Just like many people, I was unaware of a lot of things about LPU and after having a conversation, I researched about it, including on LinkedIn and discussed about it with a few more people. That’s why I thought I should clear the doubts of a lot of people like me.

Having heard a lot of jokes about it, I was actually shocked about how wrong we are about a few private institutes like LPU.

We have not valued a few private institutes as much as they should be.They may be private but I guess they are good enough looking at the numbers.

My friends discussed the state of the art infrastructure and it sure impressed me. The campus is sprawled across an area 600 acres, infrastructure is huge and every facility is available inside the campus. Right from the uni-hospital to the full-fledged 8 storey uni-mall, everything is available inside. The college also has a football ground, 2 volleyball courts, 4 basketball courts, swimming pool, and a big ground for cricket.

The university has a very diverse crowd and students from 70+ nations took admission here according to what I found from different research articles. Any place with such a diverse crowd happens to be a hub to help one interact and grow one’s knowledge, be it their culture, traditions or language. Not only that it would definitely help grow one’s personality and improve them academically.

I also got to know that every fest at LPU is hosted by the college and also is supervised by the students with the cooperation of the faculty which helps students learn the managerial and organising skills at college level which is a plus point. I read about the fest ‘ One India and One World’ that is conducted in LPU encourages the students from other colleges and universities to showcase a friendly environment and coordination of students. Many prominent leaders from worldwide including Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Mr. Naidu and our own PM Modi, have visited the campus during many events

Apart from this, the LPU campus has a number of clubs like sports club, theatre club, music club, etc. for you to follow your personal interest. Sports facilities are very good and the respective coach promotes the students to take part in many competitions. Campus life is really stirring and students have a great time at LPU according to the blog posts. They have the largest and most advanced Indoor Sports Stadium in the campus according to a recent blogpost.

The biggest investment of LP is its intellectual capital! It’s well qualified, experienced and research-oriented innovative faculty, which works day in and out to deliver the programs. They work on a culture of continuous mentor-ship for students so as to
facilitate holistic development. One thing that my friends kept talking about is the professors in there who are well-trained and use interesting ways to teach the students, mentor and support them.

The college academic record is amazing and most students talk about the same if you visit their website. The main thing that one of my friends liked about the university is that it has a major pivot on theoretical as well as practical knowledge to be given to students by having excellent faculty on board. Every year the university hosts guest lectures and interactive workshops to boost the knowledge of each and every person studying here. The students will get an opportunity to listen from prominent speakers. Some of the key speakers at LPU include: Managing director of Nissan, Mr Arun Malhotra, Late. Sheila Dixit (former Chief Minister of Delhi), Chetan Bhagat (famous book author), Ronnie Screwvala, Deepak Jalan (Head of Tech Mahindra) and so on.

So, all in all, at LPU, what I realised was one will not be just limited to the books but also have great chances of increased interaction with many prominent personalities of the nation.

The most important aspect of an institute or university is its placement.

The placements seems to be as high as whopping 1 crore in companies like Microsoft, Apple, Google etc. This could actually be found of the university website itself with a few success stories of students and alumni.

What surprised me was that when it comes to rules and regulation, unlike most of the universities, LPU seems to be really strict. For instance, LPU has zero-tolerance over drug and alcohol according to their rulebook. The security officials are always on duty to ensure that no drug enters the premises. Also, to ensure students safety, there are more than 4000 cameras established inside the campus and they monitor everybody that is entering the campus. Hence it seems to be one of the safest institutes as well.

But ,if one is a non-vegetarian then one will have to step outside the campus to eat. LPU will never allow one to carry the non-veg food inside the campus. But I guess its’ not something to worry about as one will have multiple options outside the campus.

Lastly, talking about the ranking of LPU, according to a recent ranking released by NIRF, the university is now positioned among the top 100 universities of India, So, that’s cool. This recent ranking also included all the IIMs, IITs, and other central universities. I hope this was useful and could help one with their doubts.

MBA at LPU is a different experience altogether.

The program is a great mix of cutting edge curriculum, experiential learning pedagogy, industry interface, projects, internships and consultancies, technologies trainings and many more.

The sheer size of campus and number of students provides a plethora of opportunities to students to explore their entrepreneurial skills.

The multicultural intake ensures that students learn and understand cultural sensibilities which become an asset in corporate life.

The most striking point however is the center for professional enhancement, the students are exposed to new ideas about personality development, professional etiquette, virtues, ethics, interpersonal and networking skills for almost full duration of the program rather than just a few weeks of placement trainings. This inculcates these qualities in the students in much better way and go a long way into shaping the career apart from cracking the interviews.

Coming to reputation, since you asked, NIRF a govt agency has ranked Mittal School of business among top 50 B-schools in the country twice in a row, in some of the parameters it has even beaten most IIMs and ranked no. 2 in the country !

More importantly, more than 200 companies visit the campus for recruitment of management grads only ! Which is a huge number and a big achievement. More than 97% of eligible graduates get their dream placements.

It is not like any other university, you can see it from the first step of selection, even IIMs have basic eligibility of 50% in graduation, while LPU has raised the bar to 55%.

No wonder it has one of the largest intakes in the country which has over 97% placement record.

Hope this helps

For young students placements seems to be the most important question, some even go to extent of asking the highest, the lowest, mean, median and average salaries too!
Mostly placements is considered as a standalone process. Well, let me write down all the factors which finally boil down to placements:
Course curriculum, It needs to be dynamic and industry consulted then only the professionals will be developed which industry really needs. Programme delivery: Classroom teaching doesn't work anymore, it has o be experiential learning technique. Which improve the efficiency manifold. Industry interface: To have more and more interactions with industry experts, learning the things hands on and networking!
Professional enhancement: Students come from various backgrounds and culture, they may be very good in inculcating the technical skills, but they also need to clear the interviews also for taking the jobs. The soft skills, communication, interpersonal and networking skills need to be inculcated in them not only for interviews but for whole of their careers. Faculty, the faculty which develops the curriculum and delivers the programme with right teaching pedagogy must be top notch. Internships, entrepreneurship, community development projects etc. : They need to be integral part of curriculum so that students get hands on knowledge about real time situations in various aspects of life and business. I have 16 years of experience behind me in some of the top universities of the country in private sector. I can surely tell you that LPU has excelled in all these factors with unflinching focus. All this has been possible because of heavy and smart investments made by it in intellectual capital. It has been passionate for achieving excellence in each and every process. And it shows in the placements when more than 600 top companies come to campus from all over the world and take thousands of students every year. They not only offer the great salary packages from 5 to 42 lacs per annum but also offer the best of job roles for freshers. Hope this helps
