I am confused b/w 2 companies: Aricent & Samsung Electronics (mobile division) noida..which is better for freshers?

As far as i remember Aricent ran into some troubles last yr or somewhere around that time recently. So i think samsung will be a better option

I have done B.E in electronics and communication from coimbatore and m pursuing mtech from iit kanpur. I thought of giving gmat next year by june for entrepreneurship/marketing.I am not having any work exp. but as the score ll b valid for 5 years i would be applying for the colleges after three years from now(it will be 2 years work exp.). will my mtech degree will add any value to my cv for application or not and for top 20 b-schools does work exp. matters or not and how much gmat score will be required to achieve it.

I have in big dilemma some buddy help me plzz?

my problem is that
i have 50% marks in 10th(2002) and 55% marks in 12th(2004)
and 66% marks in my btech(information technology)(2010 passout)
but due to lesss than 60% marks in 10th and 12th i cannot able to get job yet and i have one standing sply also which result may be come till the end of november.
i want to prepare for cat(/mba ) also but my dilemma is that should i prepare for cat or not or should i try for job ???
because i think that if my sply remains then i will not get admission this year also
so what to do plz suggest me.... as i am 2010 b.tech pass out and i have also 2 year gap between my 12th and btech so one more year gap ???

and if i do mba then after doing mba again 10 ,12th marks hamper me in interview or after mba??

I have total 7 years of experience initial 5 years as Senior developer and for past couple years as Sys Admin.

My decision to take a career change was due to location change and better pay. I want career growth hence I am working on my PMP and have applied for MBA in the UK.

As I was writing my Personal Stetemant and reasons for doing my mBA I gave a good argument but it was not 100% convincing. Conseuqently, one of the universities have asked me to respond to the question Why MBA?

I am not interested in Marketing or Finance or core Business Functions only things to do with IT or operations. Most of the MBA grads I know with IT background are Business Analysts. My main concern is after my MBA what happens. Observing most of my colleagues and friends. I am not so sure what would greet me at the end of all this.

With respect to career options, I have interests in management consultancy and operations domain (not limited to IT).
If I apply as a PM Role what will they consider me or what do I need to project.

Clear you Paper First...

You can prepare for CAT in parallel. I don't think any this should stop you from looking for a Job.

You can look for IT career in Networking (Cisco etc...), Sys Administration (Linux redhat, Microsoft Server etc..) or Programming (Java, COBOL, c, c++ etc). Do a technical course if you want to...Got to companies work for free if you feel you have to.

If IT is not your thing..then MBA helps you get out of the job at least this is why I most of my friends did their MBA....

Bt i suppose dat's not a right thng goin as i js wantd 2 inquire into da conversation wich da old thread carried.. N so it gets meaningless 2 ask abt the same thng n it would also not be so very expressive.
Nd plus i m a new user on dis site... so 4 me it wud get even more difficult!

So do pls continue the thread.. I'm writing to express ma reason, instead of groaning @ it!
so dat it is also helpful to other users!

Since you're a new user and it doesn't get difficult for you, that's why I suggested using this thread. It would become really difficult if everyone opens a new thread for different problems. This is a one stop location for all kinds of problems and you can continue here.

I am piyush ..i need suggestion from you all. I want to know that IIMs give calls to only those who had good acads in their 10 and 12 class ..they don't consider who has scored 99 percentile?

Acads matter a lot in our final selection to IIM's ?

AFAIK, IIM C doesn't consider acads. Don't think even the new IIMs (Ranchi and Rohtak) consider acads as well. The other IIMs consider acads, either to shortlist, or during the GD/PI rounds.

I have been following PG since 1 year and this is my first post

VA-22;QA-65;DI-27
XAT 09-34%
VA-04%;DM-82%;QA-32%
My second season 4 months of preparation;
CAT 09- 70.25% percentile
VA-63%;DI-71%;QA-60%
XAT-10 64%(was not well )
VA-85%;DM-58%;QA-32%;
i have very poor academic record i am fresher 7 months with no work i have applied to many company but there was response from other side.I don't know what to do should i give up idea of doing MBA or try once again coz my heart says that i can do it.In mean time what can i do to enhance my profile.I know my score really bad but i don't know what to do plz suggest me should i drop the Idea of doing MBA or TRy again

Don't know what the problem is. These files are working perfectly fine on my system but somehow they are not opening when I upload them here. Maybe a moderator or an administrator can shed some light on this issue. I've seen a couple of issues of attached files not opening in some other threads as well.

This chaos has been really killing me from the past 3 months...Currently standing on the edge wondering what should i do ?

Should i take up E & Y- Tax Analyst ( Human Capital ) or Alliance Business School

i'm a fresher, just finished bbm from christ college, bangalore
Alliance offers avg package of 4.5-6lakhs with a 2 yr fee of 10 lakhs + 2 lakhs from hostel i've already paid the hostel fees for 6 months i.e64800rs ( not sure of how much will be refunded apart from 50k ( non redeemable ) & 3,00,000 ( 75% can be redeemed back ) wish to do mba finance & companies like Irevena, Deloitte, Google, Royal bank of scotland, Union bank of india, E&Y;, Cape & Wakefield,Thomson reuters,Spandana microfinance....etc.
All these companies mentioned offered core finance profiles varying from financial analyst to consultants to Divisional manager.Spandana microfinance offered job designation of divisional manager. Thomson reuters gave financial analyst profile to students in this SIP...they are analyzing stock brokers report from worldwide and giving investment recommendations.

Also the batch size is set to increase to 600-700, even the seniors aren't sure of the exact number, however the admissions officer claims its 500, BUT the previous batch i.e 2009-11 has a batch size of 480.

So if you can suggest me what should i do i'd be more than grateful to you.

PS: I was offered E & Y letter last Wednesday & told them about this confusion & asked time till this Monday after which i did not get back with them nor picked their calls. It starts on July 5th & Alliance on July 8th.

Hi Buddy,

I would suggest you to join E&Y; as of now ... gain some work experience and give another attempt to exams like CAT , XAT and FMS etc and score good in them to reach a much better b-school next year.

Also , since your interest is solely in finance , i think its better not to go with your current option of college rather than going to a college in next session where opportunities in finance are much more.

Hi, my suggestion will be to go with E&Y.; because when i compare your learning in E&Y; and the brand name with the learning in alliance and the brand name.I feel E&Y; is good.
Though you will loose some bucks from advance payments you can always try. Also If possible a small legal procedure might help as i heard few years back when a guy got all his prepaid fees from IBS hyd. His father was a lawyer or judge i think. Still even though loosin g some money i will suggest you gain soem workex and try CAT again.
