Yes, you would be able to search for a job in your field.

Without acads, yes you may, without anything else, I doubt.

Without academics you may impress the interview panel, but for that you will need a good personality, attitude and knowledge (knowledge is different from acads).

I tried to find out but failed. I think it would be better to contact UGC.

which is a better option to choose for a fresher-hcl or infosys???
I am a Delhite and HCL would give me job in ncr,i.e Gurgaon or noida..In case of Infosys,I would have to go to Mysore and then wherever I get posted.
In HCL,there is a bond of 1.25 lacs for 18 months and in Infosys, there is a bond of about 3 months salary amount for 1 year after training.Pacakge of HCl offered is 3 lacs and Infy's package is 3.2 lacs
I want to know about these companies in terms of job security, growth, appraisals, work culture and nature of job offered..
I have heard that(not sure, all this information true or not)-job security is more in HCL,growth rate is less in HCL.Hikes are less in Infosys...Work pressure more in Infosys..Training of Infosys good..And its a brand name (dont know how brand name affects its employees)..No idea about nature of job offered anywhere....Financially,in HCL, I can save more since expenses are comparatively less by staying at home. Personally,I dont want a job with very high work pressure ...I have also heard that quality of life would be better if we stay at home as we get more time, rather than struggling away from home...
Kindly help me in taking the right decision...
I have job offer from TCS as well but m not thinking about it as its joining date is expected to be very late ,so its better to join infosys rather than sitting idle and waiting for TCS joining date which may come late..
Plz reply me soon as possible since HCL joining date is very soon,so I have to decide soon, within few days...
All suggestions are welcome..Do guide and help as its the question of my career..

I am having 2+ years of work ex- with a MNC earning 5lac per annum.. Is it advisable for me to drop from my job n continue preparing for CAT or Shall I continue being in my job.. I Want to do an MBA, but my confidence levels are extreemely low...

Kindly advise, which option do i need to chose for?????

@ navin...
I am just a fresher ,so I dont know I should say anything to u or not..But if u don't mind,I wud like to say u should continue preparing for Cat with ur job..In this way u wont lose ur job of high salary and if ur prep level wud be high,u wud get into a very good MBA college.

I think if you have a high probability of getting a posting in NCR please go ahead with HCL.

Regarding work profile , I think it is the same in all the IT Services Companies.

About the kind of training, brand name etc....it does not make a big difference at entry level.

Most people just stick for 2-3 years in the company they join and then jump to another for better pay.

Hi,

I had been through this dilemma and after 5 years realize that it would have been better that I would have stayed in NCR as after I joined Infy, I realized how difficult it is to return to home region ie NCR. You are right that HCL has advantages that Infosys doesn't have - like you will be at home and would be able to save more. Brand name is there, but it won't make much difference if you have good skills and knowledge.

I would suggest HCL is better than Infosys in these terms. Infosys training is good, but in the long-run it is not of much help as training and work is not linked much.

dont drop..what is the guarantee u will make it to a top bschool and what is the guarantee u will get a job which is > 5 lacs ( ur current sal)

if ur into s/w continue with job since s/w is booming nowadays and keep preparing side by side...

Yes u can impress the panel !!!!! u need to have tremendous confidence in urself and look at future positively...Many people started with 0 and went on to become biggies in their field...
Conversely many people with good background have failed in biz/professional life.....

Just be cool/calm composed and be logical and confident in interviews..
Guys I need a serious advice from you. I am B.Tech compters and having 6+ years of experience in IT field. Got married about a year ago. The situation is that off late I am quite bored of IT career and desperately looking to switch career. The only way out of this that I see is to do a MBA (probably in Finance). I want to do it from abroad to eventually settle down abroad.
My dilemma is that is it advisable to try to pursue MBA from abroad in different field at this stage of life I mean becoming non-earning when you have a wife to take care of and at same time manage expenses of MBA & living abroad. Is this manageable/doable? Should I try it or look for other alternative careers? Please advice.

every1 gets bored of their career at some point of time...Try to figure out the reason for you getting bored..if its only the kind of work and not the field per say..u can shift to other IT co. with diff profile or ask for diff. profile in ur same co...or best way is to go onsite since u want to go abroad...
y m saying this is coz in the event u do MBA finance, get a fin job and then get bored of finance also..will u keep switching ???
Having been in the same position - first in IT then MBA now in finance field i can bet that u will get bored of finance also...its got more do with job per say its monotonous nature rather...

i know of people (my frenz) who were married with kids and some w/o kids..nd who did MBA from ISB, Hyd..so people do it but number of such people is few....
I don't know much about Transition Management, but since no one was replying, I thought it is better to reply.

You can check here:-

I think every BPO has a post of transition manager. Not sure about any companies. It would be better if you ask this question on LinkedIn, I think there people may know about this.

Thanks Palak.

I am aware that most BPO & KPO firms have the role of Transition Manager...however I am keen on knowing about this role in an IT firm.

And yes I have checked Google for answers, but nothing concrete came up 😞

Hi Friends,

Iam a software engineer with a work ex of 3 years. I want to do a 1 year MBA (full year course) now. Could someone help me by giving info on the institutes having such mba programme.

Also, are there any institutes which do not require a written test but have only CV shortlisting & GD/PI for selection.

Thanks in advance.

There are many colleges that offer 1 year MBA program in executive category and few that offer 1 year MBA regular course. You can check this link on PG:-

You need to decide on which field you move on to. Whether you want to be in the education line, corpYou need to decide on which field you move on to. Whether you want to be in the education line, corporate or government jobs or you want to study further? Most of the reply will depend on it. However, I am just outlining some of the job opportunities available in various fields:-

1. Education as a career - You may apply to various schools and colleges and simultaneously apply for BEd. You will easily get a job as Economics Teacher.
Further you may take UGC-NET exam and after clearing it you may apply for Lectureship in various government and private universities.

2. Corporate Jobs - You may try for a job as Economist. Business Economists are readily absorbed by business associations like CII, FICCI, etc. You can also apply for a job in private banks.

3. Government Jobs - You may apply for a job in various Nationalized banks. You can also apply for Banks like RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, etc.

You can also sit for Indian Economics Services exam.

4. Higher Education - You may go for PhD in Economics. For eg: you can do M Phil/Ph D in Developement studies with major emphasis on Economics.

There are lot many options available. Economics is a vast field and so the job opportunities are also many and varied.
