hey... had another kinda small query, do we need to carry any sorta bedding with us(sheets, blankets etc) or is it provided ? are blankets even needed in the winters?i heard it doesnt get very cold there....
on a related note, are there things we would need, like the ones above, that we should bring from home?
no infosys provides you with bed sheets ,buckets,umbrellas,coffe mugs, mattress and blanket.All you need to get from home is your clothes, and things like books,i-pod,x-box, ect (underline stuffs r optional)

who said it's not cold here..winters are damn cold and sleping with neatly made bed after coming from GEC at 12 or 1 in the night is heaven(miss those days)
no need to carry any thing from home,if u require any thing ,we have good shops here in mysore(including many selling branded items)
mysore weather is the best to stay for and u sure will enjoy it

(1)yup...Bed is neatly made, and how much mess u create in the room ,they would make it sparkling clean every day
(2)u got me wrong..infy provides beds ,bedsheets,buckets ,mugs for that matter even towels for u,in case if u require some thing extra then there are numerous show rooms in the city
(3)not as cold as delhi winters,temperatures are mostly between 21-35 at max overall ,it would be very pleasant

Laptops are NOT Allowed in the campus!
Rest electronic items like pen drive, cds etc you can keep with you but you have to make its entry while coming ... security personnel will issue a receipt of same as record of what electronic items you are keeping with you.

among the items listed here..Alarm is also provided in the room Any how exam tensions and fear of getting late for class will wake u up with out its help unless u are as me..
hi thank u for ur replies...... i had one more doubt.....in the offer letter they asked us to enroll in National skills registry.....wen i tried to do ,it is asking for employee ID ....how could v know employee ID prior to joining....i also heard this thing we can do at mysore campus also ....is that true????

go back to the NSR site and read all the options, there is one option which asks whether 'you have an offer letter from infy/tcs?'(and a few other companies)
i guess you can do the work after getting here too.....but why delay it?

As far as i know NSR registration can be done in hyderabad.. (my friends travelled all the way from vizag to hyd just for this) during our time ,we had done it in mysore,but when u had a chance why to be lazy

Max time that it will take is one month.....i got mine in less than 15 days
It won't help you anywhere in infy except the thing that it is one of the required formalities to be fulfilled... once you register in NSR , you become the part of national database of registered and verified workforce for its member companies.
You can update your professional information time to time in your NSR account as well.

The lobby of each building has a zone where you can smoke.....and the place is very active at night
Near the classrooms too there is a smoking zone called 'Gazebo' which is overflowing with ppl till late in the night
@raaaaahul Dnt wory abt dat dude.... u can smoke below the hostel, there are enuf smokin zones in infy ..also if u r so lazy 2 come dwn there r odr ways as well u'll find out wen u reach dere...

You can come out of the hostel room and smoke in the lobby or in some smoking zone.
As far as my suggestion is concerned, I would say enjoy your time till you come here or do any thing regarding your career plans ahead.. you need not do anything to prepare yourself for Infosys, they will train you in everything they want from you.
I have been in infy for more than 17 months and i did not know to write the most basic C program when i joined in Mysore So,no preparation required for here
