Regarding CAT and MBA, I'm a passed out Student of BScIT in 2007 and after working in Microsoft and Dell, I enrolled for CAT and now doing MBA regular (Through CAT ofcourse). One fellow from my City, a student of BSc(IT)+MSc(IT) SMU-DE has been selected in IAS and his photograph came in local Chandigarh newspaper. I think that answers your queries... Moreover, while filling CAT Bulletin, you will see Sikkim Manipal University in the list of eligible Universities.
