why there is no activity on this forum? Looks as if everybody is busy in visa or have decided not to join Marshall...huh?
m wondering about result for R2...got interviwed on 15th April...and interviwer informed that they will release result by 25th April. But still there is no update from them. Has neone got any information about it from admission office?

My interview was just okay. same usual questions were asked by interviewer. During intw they told that result will be announed by end of April but I have not heared anything yet.
I am not sure why you have not received any call from them about intw. As per feedback I have got I think they are done with all interviews for Round 2. But dont worry....they may call you anytime soon.
Regarding the status, my status is also same "waitlist". and ya...I didnt send any material...so it was purely based on my original application.
Ya..I have admit from Boston university....what about you?

My interview was good but still they have put me on waitlist..it seems they already have enought number of people from india:( ..I was bit disappointed to know that:(

Sorry for coming back after a long time.
I got admission from Marshall but finally decided to not go for MBA anywhere because of some personal reasons.
Hopefully my seat might have helped some other Waitlisted Indian applicant :)
I am applying at Indian Institutes this year.
I have also started a website for MBA and Mtech aspirants which provides Free information and tests for GMAT, and Indian tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, GATE and trying to increase the portfolio.

Brief Profile - 7 years exp (IT/Business), almost 4 years in US, substantial community and leadership experience, couple awards, good acads, lower than 700 score, definitive focus on target industry and goals, and good recommendations.
I interviewed last time (i got a call though i applied in the last round), but probably didn't have goals defined crisply in the app. That's why i had got a reject.
I understand it is difficult to answer what my chances are, but what kind of preference does Marshall give in terms of leadership experiences vis-a-vis scores for Indians ?
Does a re-applicant like me stands a fair chance ?

I hope you doint mind if I answer this for you.
I think that you have an excellent profile. 7yrs in IT/Business analysis is excellent.
Some thoughts though:
As the number of applicants to all schools is expected to grow atleast 30-35% this year, i would suggest that you apply as early as possible this time.
Your number of years of experience can quite make up for your
Marshall, as most of the top schools, places a great emphasis on leadership experience.However, as Marshall students' average GMAT score reached 700 this year, the burden is on you to make up for your score with some great essays that portray your leadership.
As you are a reapplicant, you would also have to show strong profile improvements (promotions, new projects etc).

Thank you Varun and Ved. Really appreciate your inputs.Though I wouldn't wait until December, since the first deadline is just around the corner.
It would however be interesting to know the facts about re-applicant considerations. Also, I would try to make the best out of the one essay that I am supposed to submit in terms of growth. Unfortunately, this time they have kept it a very short one (500 words).

Excellent extra-curriculars in college, president of music club, chief editor of coll magazine, organized many events
Decent community work since 2006, volunteered at teaching and recruited other volunteers
1- Do you find my profile competitive enough for USC Marshall, preferably for a scholarship too?
2- Since 2 rounds have already passed (EA and R1), is it worthwhile to apply in the Jan 15 round, or is it like EA and R1 finish up the maximum number of seats?
Basically, I'm trying to figure out the admittability level of round 2 for a school which has an EA round as well.

You have an excellent chance to get through Marshall. Your high GMAT score, prior entrepreneurship experience and NIT background will definitely help you in your applications.
Jan 15 is the largest applications round at Marshall. The adcom knows this and do reserve a significant number of seats for this round - including scholarships. Many Indian students at Marshall currently (including me) applied in this round only. So don't worry regarding the scarcity of seats - you do have a very good chance of getting through with a schol. Just be clear about your goals and aspirations in ur essays..

Sorry for the late reply. Was really busy with the MBA course curriculum in the past month! You are right - Marshall does not have any student with non co-signor loans. Most of the international students (including 11 Indians out of 12) are on scholarships and find it pretty easy to fund their MBA. I know many people who have taken a loan with Citibank USA (with a co-signor) at a really low interest rate. Do not worry about the finances, as of yet. Apply first - if you get through Marshall, you will find a way to fund your MBA.
Just a note though - if you are really considerate about your finances, make sure you apply to Georgia Tech and ASU. These universities have decent programs and are a lot cheaper. Georgia Tech is known to give full scholarships to Indians who have high GMATs and have presented themselves well to the adcom.

I have a question about the financial guarantee statement. I submitted my application in R1 (December 1st deadline) but haven't yet submitted the financial guarantee statement.
I have the following questions:
a) How long after the application submission can I submit the financial guarantee statement.
b) I have investments in immovable property under my name and my father's name. I plan to use these to fund my education. Can I somehow show these as part of the financial guarantee statement ?
c) Even though showing the immovable property looks like the easiest option, my family funds are spread across various banks under mine and my siblings' names. And it appears next to impossible to move them into one account. If I try to get statements for all of them, the financial guarantee statement has just one place of certification by the bank, which again does not work.Any clues as to how this could be handled ?
I am sure this problem is not unique to me, and others might have faced it as well. Can others share about the way they went about it ?
