UPSC CSE Exam 2019: Admit Card, Syllabus, Result

@csl80 hi ye 2nd vali qualification hona compulsory hai..mere pas wo nahi hai yar.. me to elligible hi nahi... yar
@lalo
i think i and ii qualification are necessary

@lalo & anshul26 Yes Both 1 & 2 Qualifications are necessary agar aapke pass keval degree hai diploma nahi hai respective discipline mein then you ppl are not eligible to compete for these Posts

@spatone
If you have resolve then no one should be able to dissuade you. Don't worry about results. It is beyond your control. As soon as you accept this preparation will go smooth. All the best!
@PuYGuY Seriously speaking, I still believe that you should concentrate on one exam.

I have come off age for UPSC.
@PuYGuY True that you cannot rely on one exam. But UPSC CSE and CAT-like examinations are far apart and cannot be considered backup for each other. The temperament of both exams and thus the requirements are different. For CAT, I can think XAT or MAT as an alternative; not CSE.

You might find I am discouraging you from appearing for CSE. However, that is not the case. I am only trying to tell you that if you do not concentrate and follow one path, you may reach nowhere.
@PalakMathur
you are bang on target,,specially with exams like upsc and cat,,both require tremendous amount of concentration and focus,,yet people preparing for cat are going to think that upsc is easy to crack since the implementation of csat ,,,but this will apply only for extremely brilliant candidates and not everyone

@anshul26 I will not say 'brilliant candidates' but yes I do agree with you. CSAT may look easy for starters but even if you clear the exam, then there is Main exam, which belongs to totally a different league. If your backup exam for CSE is CAT and for CAT is CSE, then they don't follow the same pattern and do not provide you with the level field where you can practice effectively for other exam in case you fail in first.
@PalakMathur
the mains , in my opinion, is the toughest exam to crack,,so assuming that one can make upsc a backup for cat or vise verse, should never be an option for a right minded candidate,,and again as palak said,,i am not discouraging anyone,,i am just stating a fact

Very Well Said Palak I fully Agreed With You, CSE is not all about Aptitude it requires many other things, its really really different from CAT & other MBA Exams

Specially for all people who are preparing for CAT & also thinking for appearing in CSE please take decision after a full proof checking of urs ability strengths & requirement ( Sply Mains ) of this highly highly Competitive Exam

PS: The post is not meant for discouraging aspirants but to do just a reality check of their ability & strengths
@indian_diplomat Check the syllabus and then verify whether they cover some of the books or not. If you have your basics right, then French literature will not be difficult in the exam.

In mains is there individual cut off marks or overall cutoff marks for clearing ?

cat

@PalakMathur cat and csat are different cat tests aptitude for highr level while upsc needs atleast a more than normal aptiu

Guyz , Is the notification out for the next CSAT , stage 1 ?

@civill What do you mean by higher level? Do you think only mediocre get through IAS/Civil Services? If that is the case, then I do not agree with you.
Its all about whose strategy is superior....

simple as that

@prateek987 Oh really!! Do you think you don't need a good strategy to clear CSAT?
Dear friend....

I am rarely misunderstood anywhere. Anyways....

Before posting what I posted,I did'nt go in detail what you posted on this forum....

This is what I was actually tryin to say == "It doesnt matter whether a CAT topper is preparing for CSAT or an average student. What matters is the strategy adopted by the aspirant and its quality"...

I don't want you to assume ....that....

A) IAS is for mediocre..
B)Only someone good at cracking CAT has a chance of clearing IAS...

Peace

Last season, I scored in the top percentile and earned calls from IIMs , FMS , IITs , et cetera .At the last moment , I skipped all my interviews for services .
Seats at IIMs up for grabs: 3000 approx. (number of CAT applicants= 2L ) ; Posts under UPSC Civil :1037 (applicants : 4.5 L +) Post per applicant ka ratio nikalo to around 6.75 ata hai . The quantity and quality of hours you need to put in for civils is way way more than you would need in case of CAT
