r u from fms?
@pahadimba said:@axaxax Well in MBA we are made to think about the worst case scenario also. if i succeed everything will be fine, but what if i dont succeed. thats the question. Though i have confidence on myself that given two attempts i'll be able to get through. but just in case if i dont what are the options available to me?
You are answering your own question here. See it is a leap of faith you are taking to be more satisfied in life, that risk you have to take. You have the best cushion, a good MBA background. Come back to industry, start afresh if you don't make it. You will lose only a few years (this much you have to give away to be part of the game)
AS few concerns I have looking at your earlier post (very individual)
1) " " I'm not liking the sector as well as the profile. I've realised that I'm more of routine loving kind of person and hate hearing about profit and loss all the time. ""
See sales job generally begin with this kind of a set-up but if you are in a good company you will get a hand at brand management and marketing later in your career, that might be more interesting and creative, so think and know your job before you take the plunge
2) "Hence I want to join the government service through UPSC or RBI. Even my parents and my relatives have been asking me to give UPSC atleast once. " "
I don't think this reason alone can keep you motivated throughout the term of preparation when you will leave your job and see you friends working. UPSC/IAS cannot be a run-away option as it will be a tougher job (assuming you follow the right path with integrity). I would suggest, devote more time to introspection

UPSC is an addiction....mind it!if you get immersed in it u vl nt go before 4 years...nd in all those years your batchmates wud have gone far ahead...they may have a couple of cars, most of them wil get married, most of them wud hav booked a flat, almost all of them wud have seen foreign shores +parties+fun+...... so this is all wat u gonna miss...take your chances after proper CB analyses....also the pattern is about to change anytime....hence wait for some time, do some soul searching then plunge..

I have got age and attempts in my favour. Are there high chances that pattern will change next year if not this year ? I want to appear this year itself but seems I will be wasting my time in preaparing for two optionals if I appear this year since it will be very hard to crack mains with a praparation of only 6-8 months that too with no prior exp in optionals.
