Which one is better : Pub Ad. or Pol Sci ? The Pub Ad paper-I on 9th Oct 2012 was tough one. I saw the Pol sci paper. it was much easier compared to Pub Ad. what u say guys ?

I agree but some books on some optionals are not written from exam point of view and takes a lot of time and effort to get what we need.
BTW could you guys suggest me good test series on Pub Ad and Anthropology starting anytime from now on? I really need to practice writing and get good feedback. Prferably on a atest center in delhi but I guess I can also work out postal.
will mains 2013 pattern b changed????.....any info regarding that??
That will become clear once the notification is out for this year which generally comes out in Jan-Feb (February 4 is the cutoff date. Don't be misled by rumours.
1) I saw on one of the forums that UPSC has in its schedule kept 21 days for Mains 2013, so pattern will not change. All this is wrong, even after pattern change the number of papers remain the same (moving from optional to compulsory). It's just a placeholder window and one should not assume too much.
2) The tone of the UPSC chairman in most interviews was that he wants to implement it soon, and this is the precise reason, optional was removed from prelims.
3) I expect an early notification this year, if they plan to change the pattern, to provide time to aspirants to cope up.
4) Some experts say, change in 2014 is almost certain.
