haan bhai
@Adimon Thanks for your reply. Have you given thought to the "Management" optional? What do you think about it?

@amartyadey Bro as such i am choosing Pub Adm as 1 of the options, so i am a bit hesitant on it. I have been trying to talk to other people and they tell me that Sociology is a good scoring subject , so i am thinking on those lines too.

apfc admit cards available for all the centers except delhi n patna....those two places will be added on 12-09-2012

@Adimon Any link with the subjects that we deal with during MBA? I am currently in the 1st year of MBA.

Puys any news on modification of UPSC pattern??

I am going to register for Pub Ad and Psychology coaching dis month...if dey will change d pattern after dat den it wud be such a waste of time and money...
Plz give any info you have :)

bro, still there are only murmerings and no concrete news from anywhere. but take consider one thing, you have public administration as an optional, it would not loose its prominence even if pattern is changed. you can expect whole 1 paper of it in new patterns. so i think there is no loss going for this coaching. now for psycho i believe since we don't have much idea now, so you can go for its coaching after prelims. just now instead of psycho you can go for GS classes
@BONNYDUSHYANT Is it feasible to prepare for an optional after prelims??

yaar i have seen many people do that. may be by the next time year things willl get more clear and even you may not be required to join the coaching

BHAI i know the business of coaching but koi option to nahi hai na

i know self study is the only key but not able to find a path to follow........@csl80

This year I applied for UPSC but due to some reason I was not able to appear for the exam(prelims)
1>How many attempts are there in UPSC ?(according to my knowledge 4 attempts)
2>Whether this year for me--it will be counted as one attempt?

@abhi_1234 four attempts for general category..the attempt that u gave this yr will not b counted

I was just checking the course of the optional "Management". I think it would be easy for management guys to follow up on that subject, especially the ones who are pursuing the HR domain course. It is 80% Organizational Theory and Practice. I would love to know about the opinions held by other aspirants.

bro i don't have any idea about management optional but i would like to drop a word or two if you don't mind. actually all subjects are equally scoring and equally tough. point is in which you are comfortable. the subject you think u can study for 2-3 years. thus for that management is equally good as physics and pali literature. its all about your choice
@BONNYDUSHYANT I totally agree with you. I have heard about IAS officers having physics and electrical engineering and scoring highly even there. I am currently pursuing my MBA (1st year). Scoring is important and for scoring well, I am sure you would agree, conditioning is required. If the management paper is actually HR based as it seems to be from the course, then an aspirant in the field of management would do well to take subjects from that domain. I am still searching for a fit. :)
