UPSC CSE Exam 2019: Admit Card, Syllabus, Result

@vishu0102 said:guys appearing for epfo apfc exam 2012.... there are few books released by two publications namely arihant and kiran prakashan are available in flipkart...i assume arihant to be more useful as it has given the material entirely according to the prescribed syllabus....all the best guys
One more publication is there...by R.Gupta but its not be useful at all.Just in case anyone want to do some warm-ups with LR and english section

@[76742:desire01] r gupta is not worth mentioning so didnt take out that publication....dont even know about kiran prakashan but arihant seems to be useful as its contents show relevance with the syllabus mentioned in the notification....my book is yet to be delivered, will look into it and share my opinion here...anybody who has already got arihant epfo apfc book can throw some light on it and share their views here....

i have received the books ordered through flipkart....arihant publications epfo apfc 2012 and kiran prakashan's epfo apfc practice book...i have gone through both of them....both the books are worth reading in order to crack sept 23rd exam for epfo apfc....good luck guys..

@Tony24 said: Arre bhailog, why so much controversy over such a trivial issue.here are certain books that i think are useful for GS. 1.India's Struggle for independence- Bipin Chandra Covers history from 1857 to 1947.Very good analysis of important historical events, but is biased towards the Congress. 2.Our Constitution- Subhash Kashyap Very simple and lucid language used.Good book to start with, but not very analytical. It has to be supplemented with D D Basu. 3.Introduction to constitution- D D Basu In depth analysis of major provisions.Of immense help for Pub admn. 4. Science and Technology- TMH Publication Covers wide variety of area like Space, Biotechnology etc, but is not updated with latest developments. But good to learn basics of S&T; 5.Ecology and Environment- P D Sharma Have not read this book, but one of my friends has given good reviews about it. 6. Indian Economy- Misra and Puri or Dutt and Sundaram You will find these books in the book list of many websites but not necessary if you are from commerce background.I read Misra and Puri during my final year. It is loaded with too much statistical data.Questions in preliminary/mains are mostly concept based and derived from current events. 7.Oxford Students Atlas 8.NCERT Science- VIII-X 9.NCERT Geography- VIII-XII (New ones) 10.NCERT History- XI-XII (Old ones) 11.The Hindu, ET, Frontline, Yojana, Kurukshetra, Chronicle or Competition Wizard. Guys, Let me know if there are other good books for GS. Cheers!
Thank you sir! I am just starting off and this thread has been of great help to me. But please clarify, when you say GS you mean Prelims right?

These books will help u in both pre and mains. There's no clear cut dichotomy b/w syllabus of GS pre and mains. This year questions in GS pre were also asked from Science/Tech and Indian Culture (both are part of GS mains syllabus)

Cheers!
