Hello all, this was my first attempt and my scores are according to keys- paper 1 - 64 (gktoday key), paper 2 - 148 (tcyonline key) total- 212. (without an ounce of preparation) category general score according to TYC and TestFunda around 188-191/400, should i move on with mains preparation or focus on SSC CGL
Every one is scoring more than 180 in my friend circle. None of them has been qualified in any big examination before this. If everyone is scoring high then either i am a fool to score low or they r lying. Or i made a mistake while attempting the paper.

Hey, Which batch are you in at MHROD-DSE, I had applied last year for MIB, was WL but didn't convert.
In the event that I accidentally clear the Prelims, How should I go about with my prep for Mains, I have done BBA & would be joining SIBM Pune from June, And could you explain me the funda & pattern for Mains, I intend to choose Management & Economics, but I am confused about this Regional Lang paper, is it compulsory, I am not so strong in Hindi, & what all is asked in Mains, is it partly objective partly subjective or totally subjective type.

I started reading the books of public administration. I found it interesting to know that CENTRAL SECRETARIAT is part of public administration syllabus. It is interesting for me because very soon i am going to become the part and the parcel of the most powerful office of our country as an ASSISTANT SECTION OFFICER.
What?? I always thought PMO is the most powerful office in the country, followed by Cabinet Secretariat!!

hello Mrinal, sorry for late reply. I am in current batch(2013). and about mains in case if you are feeling that you are scoring around 200. you should start preparing for mains. Mains will be totally subjective. and as far as your choice of optional are concern i am not the right person to comment but before choosing any subject consider some factors, your interest,syllabus,previous year papers,availablity of material

Continued..... some seniors who have already taken those subjects, consult with them, also how those optionals are faring over the period of past 5 years. yes regional language paper is compulsory but they are not that much tough, they are of only qualifying nature. The level will of high school. you can find the syllabus in upsc notification, itself, you will also find the pattern of mains there. but how to go about preparation of mains i am as naive as you are.(senior puys plz help here). but yes you can find a lot about strategy and funda in this thread itself. so my advice will be to read this thread from start. it will maximum take a day but will clear the air:-). hope it will help.All the best......baki aish:-)
