Career launcher answer keys are doubtful. My score is hovering around 74 in paper 1 and 110 in paper 2. So what are my chances with this score? I am a general category candidate. My score may go upto 200+. I am waiting for VAJIRAM'S ANSWER KEYS. That may clear the air more. Nevertheless i want you all to comment on possibility of my selection with the current score of 184 marks.

Hello all, this was my first attempt and my scores are according to keys- paper 1 - 64 (gktoday key), paper 2 - 148 (tcyonline key) total- 212. Pandey ji, palak sir, csl, tony and other friends plz comment. should i start preparing for mains? one thing more, a big Thankyou form heart to you all Puys. Its only due to your posts in different threads wheather its in upsc, ssc wala thread, its keeps me motivated!!!!. thanks once again :-). Baki aish...

of course you should start preparing for mains.
All the coaching centres showed their true colors. They even after 2 days of exam could not provide proper answer keys. What they actually teach is really doubtful. According to KHAN study group my paper 2 marks are 126.67 and according to Vajiram my marks in the same paper is 104.17. Career launcher keys are predicting 115.84 marks. In paper 1 all of them are predicting 74 to 78 marks. I think upsc should ask this question in mains that which coaching provides the best answer?

UPSC itself should provide the official answer key!!:)
But Gktoday and TCY keys seem most authentic among all the answer keys available.
Regarding cut-off marks, it depends on whether there would be paper-wise cut off or just a composite cut off.But, nobody knows the answer to this question.Before CSAT was introduced, UPSC used to have separate cut off for General studies and Optional paper!!

Done with the first UPSC paper
went in just to try how actually the exam feel is and came out feeling good about it!
The paper especially part 2 was quite easy while for Part 1(GS)..i am not the right person to comment as my preparations have not been there..had gone with a stragety that Science and technology GS, i will target and well it doesnt came out good!
Have seen 1 2 guys crying after paper 1..realised how important this paper is for many of us as normally one sacrifices much more here than for cat preparations..

44(Paper 1)
159(Paper 2)
total: 203..looks okk( though cutoff will be far higher than this)..considering the level of preparation..Now will use my left over 3 attempts with some preparation
P.S.and yes Section 2, last year and this year also is kind of paper where you just stand and deliver!almost like belter track..a little bit more serious contender can score of 170+!
and for section 1 where even in GS, eliminations do work!
..realised how important this paper is for many of us as normally one sacrifices much more here than for cat preparations..
I suggest u check ur paper 1 again using GK today or TCY key, ur score may increase.:grin:
In my case, there is difference of 22 marks in paper 1 b/w GK today key/ and TF key!!

Same case here. In paper 1, according to tcy its 54 but gktoday key reckons it as 64......! the good thing is in any case i am over 200. But cant say what upsc thinks..... fingers crossed:-)
According to KSG,CL and Vajiram my score is 201,190 and 171 respectively. None of the answer keys are reliable. Coaching like Vajiram gave the answer of simple mathematical problem wrong. So the lesson which i learnt here is no one knows what will happen. But one with 170 plus marks must prepare for mains. After all if one will not be get selected then also it will help him in future.
When are the results for the UPSC Prelim supposed to come ??
Any idea about cutoffs for the the same ??

if UPSC Provides answers key then there is no need to roam everywhere for the answers. But UPSC Expects from the candidates that they must remain Unpredictable (U) about answers so i think thats the reason they never provide the answer key
