UPSC CSE Exam 2019: Admit Card, Syllabus, Result

Buddy

As i responded to your query earlier as well, being in NITIE will provide you with ample time for preparation of UPSC. I did not prepare otherwise i too had ample time. 😃 So, i dont see any point in leaving the admit when you can prepare alongwith. And you have enough time to prepare as well as CSAT 2012 is still 12 months from now. 😃

I think both the apprehensions are taken care of 😃

Feel free to shoot any further doubt!!

thanks bhu.ait cazarekar saptarshi_7star and varun sir for the reply

but is it really the same having a one year full classroom coaching [ 8-9 months ] in Delhi comparable with prepartion with mba studies ?
i talked with one of my senior [gave civil serv interview this year but couldnt clear ] he said it will be better to come to delhi for one year and give a full fledged one year devoted studies because it requires this much of time and devotion atleast and one other senior frm iim k supported fact to continue with nitie mba and pepare along with it [ he himself wrote mains twice ].
really getting confused as on one side there is fear of lossing one year completely [considering my age as 26 now ] and on other side dont want to give a medicore shot at upsc as the time will be running out . plz give yr advice .

Hello Seniors,
I was reading through this post and found it very useful. I had a basic question which might sound silly but still would appreciate if somebody can help me.

I am getting into MBA this year and also intend to prepare for UPSC 2013. The very basic question to seniors is please throw some light as to how folks prepare while studying parallelly for the rigorous course of MBA? How do we manage time between case studies, quizzes, assignments, lectures etc.? I am asking this because i really want to plan my routine in a way that I can do some serious studies. Is it really possible to squeeze in 4-5 hours of study daily in midst of the demanding classes and tests etc. Is this possible in IIMs too? Will really be grateful if someone can help so that I atleast know how difficult it would be to prepare simultaneously. Do we get more time to prepare in the second year compared to the first? Please guide. Some success stories will really be a confidence booster.

Thank You

I am not a senior and not a mba yet i want to comment on that!See you have to see some of the following points while making a MBA>>UPSC decision.( and i think ////you must be talking about UPSC 2014 and not 2013..

1.Interest and Objective : whether getting into MBA and doing a job is your primary interest or are you really inclined towards Civil services.Ask yourself why? No option is bad,,if everybody will become a IAS who will run the companies:biggrin:. also interest plays a key role in the preparation..if you have interest you can squeeze time whenever you want!

2. Kind of college: the curriculum and academic rigour of all the good B schools are different..If daily your MBa studies dont allow you to sleep till 3 or 4 and you have classes from 8 ..i dont think you can get a hell lot of time for study..watever routine you want to apply(some IIM's for example),,you can on some occasions but not always..while in some equally good colleges..it is mostly like a tougher version of engineering..you have to study daily( instead of one night) but normally 11-12 at night you can finsh the daily quota of MBa studies and cases..So research this fact in watever college you are joining..

3. Preparation time in second year: this can be a confidence booster as I have friends in IIM A( most rigous academic pattern who have confirmed that second year is a lot more " cool" than the first year..its hectic yet its not that bad!!,,i can draw an assumption that it msut be the same in most of the colleges..

4. What are you targetting: I think even targetting 2014 will be a hell lot difficult since you would have just finished rthe Mba..though wat the best you can do is make yourself a lot stronger in GS for 2 years..thats 730 days..and occasional Part 2 of pprelims paper..if you have interest in reading..you can read some of the books too..also there are chances there wilkl be no optionals by that time so just try for making your general studies a lot sharper in two years time..

this is just a assumptive analysis..Varun aka Vision will tell you more in detail as he is the better person suited for the same..

I have done my graduation from the UK, am I eligible for UPSC? My uni is recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. is that enough?

What is UK? Is this United Kingdom or Uttarakhand? If it is latter then no problem. If it is the former one then i don't know.

Hi guys, nice to see so much discussion on this thread :)

How many of u r taking the plunge this year itself??

If u r appearing this year then u can 'thank' this post!!

Cheers!

Hey I also will be preparing for UPSC in Mumbai, do you know of any good coaching institutes?

I don't think any pvt institute in mumbai is worth the time and money.

But i have heard that State Institute of Administrative Careers(SIAC) is good. This is run by Maharashtra state govt and no fees is charged. They conduct an entrance exam every year and select few candidate who are then provided coaching. The advantage here is that you get to interact with a very high quality of students who have cleared this test, since only 50 from general category are selected from all over Maharashtra.

Note: There may be few good pvt institutes in Mumbai about which i may not be aware.

Cheers!

Ok now comes another important Exam notification By The UPSC. UPSC on April 14th 2012 released a Special Notice for the Recruitment Of 253 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner In Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO)

I dont think there is any need to open a new thread for this exam as the content of this exam is almost same Like CSE paper 1

Thanks alot for the valubale info.
Can you please share the previous papers if available and the study material for this.??

Brother as you r saying it is an approved course so there might not be any problem. You better pay heed towards your preparation and whenever we will come to know about it we will inform you about it. But before this you must please post some more information about it. Like its duration and nature.

It was a three year course. Now, I will be joining TISS for my Masters degree :), so I guess that should help a bit

If i am not wrong this year's 2nd rank holder of cse is from TISS. If they r allowing you to take admission in it's PG course then surely your degree is equivalent to the graduation degree obtained from any indian university.
