As you have requested, I am answering your query. But I have been repeating the same things that I have already said several times in this thread. So, first thing about preparation is you should have patience to search the content that you are not able to find anywhere.
Here are the answers. If you think that I have not answered your question as you expected, then try to rephrase the question so I am able to understand what exactly is in your mind.
You can opt for Management as one subject. Do not go for Mathematics as many people who are comfortable with Mathematics do not perform well in the exam. I also changed my subject from Mathematics on recommendation of a senior.
You cannot choose Public Administration with Management. The other subjects that you can choose from are Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, History, Geography, etc.
Just prepare well. Don't worry about other things.

I need your urgent suggestions regarding IAS exam this year.. I went to vajiram and ravi coaching institute yesterday and i told that i am very new to this exam. They have recomended unless and untill you have have 1 year of extensive prepartion don't waste your attempt which is max 4.And moreover it is high chances that by next year 2013 there is no optionals subject. So investing time on optionals is not a good idea if you are not prepared for this year.I have 25 years of age and sept born.

I think if you have not already started preparation for 2012 then it would be better that you appear in 2013.
AS PER 2ND ARC RECOMMENDATIONS (10th Report Titled: Refurbishing Of Personnel Administration - Scaling New Heights) Structure of the Civil Services Examination
Structure of Examination: Either of the following two models may be adopted for compressing the examination cycle.
Preliminary and Main Examinations for the Civil Services Examination would be conducted together on two to three consecutive days. . Evaluation of papers for the Main Examination should be done in case of only those candidates who have secured a threshold level of marks in the Preliminary Examination. The personality test would follow thereafter. OR
.Based on the results of the Preliminary Examination, candidates eligible for taking the main examination and the personality test would be short listed in accordance with their rankings. Only these short-listed candidates would be eligible for appearing in the MainExamination, which would be conducted within two months of the Preliminary Examination.
.The short list would be limited to about two to three times of the number of vacancies available.
.Thus it would be possible to start the Personality Test and the Main Examination almost simultaneously.
Content:
Preliminary Examination should consist of an objective type test having one or two papers on general studies including the Constitution of India, the Indian legal system, Indian economy, polity, history and culture. There should be no optional subjects. Main Examination should consist of two papers only in the compulsory subjects. These compulsory subjects may include Constitution of India, Indian legal system, Indian economy, polity, history and culture etc. The question papers should be of the conventional descriptive type. Besides, there should be a separate essay paper as a part of the Main Examination.
AS PER 2ND ARC RECOMMENDATIONS (10th Report Titled: Refurbishing Of Personnel Administration - Scaling New Heights)
ARC report was fantastic. All its reports are good. Hope that Government also implement the report on Public Order. I found the recommendations in the report as true recommendations - to the point. This is how recommendations should be made. Other reports though good showcase the verbal ability of IAS officers. The Public Order report stands out!!
what report says about removal of optionals & change in syllabus & when it will get implemenetd??
It was the recommendation of Alagh Committee and was also recommended by 2nd Administrative Reform Commission in its report on Personnel Administration.
Acting on the recommendations, optionals were removed from Prelims. When will they get removed from Mains is the call of UPSC!
In short now UPSC is going to go in a T20 cricket way... This format gonaa suit to some candidates & for some it wont.... I hope official declaration will come earliest
Recently MPSC changed their syllabus and pattern of examination for Mains. Check that.
