Ans no 1. As per the short notification by PSC UP there is least possibility that they will ask UP specific question( as their syllabus is total copy of UPSC CSAT). The detailed syllabus will b out along with Notice of the exam

Ans no 2. Yes centres of exam will be in UP Only. if u r in Delhi then u Can opt for Ghaziabad

Ans no 3. Regarding the toughness Level UP PCS followes the toughness level of CSE(UPSC). As they are conducting the CSAT for the first time they will sure follow the toughness level of UPSC CSAT 2011 BOTH PAPER

All The Best

Guys.... Anthropology ka syllabus vast nahi hai kya... I have heard someone saying this, I really dont knoe coz i'n not from humanities...

Hello All,

I am a mechanical engineer pass out of AMU & have 2 years of work ex. in a core industry. currently i am pursuing MBA from IIT Kanpur.
I am looking forward for IAS exam but is not so sure of the subjects to study.
Please guide me..well regarding subjects
1) I am comfortable with Management subjects, mathematics.
2) Not comfortable with mechaincal engineering
3) Is good in aptitide & optimistic of clearing this part easily in prelims.
4) How to prepare well for General Studies.
5)Also guide me regarding subject selection (best option for me). I am ok with some subject which may be comparatively easy & can be taken with some subject of my choice (from above).

Please anyone , reply to my query & guide me for the same. I am planning to appear either in 2013 or 2014. But want to clear all the information regarding the same.

Is Laxmikanth sufficient for Polity??..... and can any body suggest 'one' good and tested book for Economy...

As you have requested, I am answering your query. But I have been repeating the same things that I have already said several times in this thread. So, first thing about preparation is you should have patience to search the content that you are not able to find anywhere.

Here are the answers. If you think that I have not answered your question as you expected, then try to rephrase the question so I am able to understand what exactly is in your mind.

1) I am comfortable with Management subjects, mathematics.

You can opt for Management as one subject. Do not go for Mathematics as many people who are comfortable with Mathematics do not perform well in the exam. I also changed my subject from Mathematics on recommendation of a senior.

You cannot choose Public Administration with Management. The other subjects that you can choose from are Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, History, Geography, etc.

Read this post of mine for other subjects and the combination of subjects that are not possible:-
https://palakmathur.wordpress.com/notes/upsc-civil-services-examination-beginners-guide/

2) Not comfortable with mechaincal engineering

Do not take it.

3) Is good in aptitide & optimistic of clearing this part easily in prelims.

CSAT GS Paper II ie aptitude test is very simple, so don't worry about it.

4) How to prepare well for General Studies.

I have replied this several times. Get all the resources you need at a go. Prepare a schedule keeping in mind the syllabus and just start preparing. You can get the booklist that I followed here:-
https://palakmathur.wordpress.com/notes/general-studies/book-list-for-general-studies-for-upsc-cse/

5)Also guide me regarding subject selection (best option for me). I am ok with some subject which may be comparatively easy & can be taken with some subject of my choice (from above).

You can take Management and Sociology.

Please anyone , reply to my query & guide me for the same. I am planning to appear either in 2013 or 2014. But want to clear all the information regarding the same.

Just prepare well. Don't worry about other things.

Yes Laxmikanth is good one. For Prelims, just read NCERT books for Economy.
