Guys for GS .... in current affairs part... i am following Pratiyagita Darpan n to some extent CSR .. n regular brushing up of newspapers ....but of how many months should de revised ? i mean if the exam is June 2011 then i should revise PD n CSR of how many months back ? Would 2 years of PD n CSR be enough for current affairs ...
Secondly i am a bit lost when it comes to newspapers .. i brush up newspapers daily as habit since my childhood but am a bit confused on how to streamline it and channelize my time n energy to put the newspaper reading to good use in cracking GS.. ? If i assume that i would be making a serious attempt at next year CSAT .. then what should be the methodology behind using newspapers ? Do i need to make notes ? will paper cuttings do ? and while making notes ... do i need to write as much as possible..or just the imp points.. like when any event happened.. who were the parties involved.. what was the reason etc ... as such ... n like PD n CSR ..how many months of newspaper preparation is required .. 24 months would be fine ?
Sorry for the long post ...but i am quite confused as to how to start the preparation .. i know i will be able to grasp the optionals ... but GS is my nemesis.. so i need as much help i need on this..

omg! u really are confused!
newspapers... The Hindu.. cut out the political news..who said what to whom...which party did what when why how... NOT AT ALL RELEVANT. read only what is relevant. Sports apart from cricket are important.
magazine....one shud be enuf. time frame... fr next year paper...events in the this year + events till you clear...make it a habit.
cut outs and jotting down the points...will help for sure. maintain a file for it.
How many of you are attempting this year's exam? What are your optionals? Where are you taking the coaching for the optionals? Please reply.
