Great venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez no more. He was a great inspiration to me in matters of administration. I wanted to do atleast 1% of what he did to his country's poor. Long live leader
No fun for three days guys.

Leave current affairs till april. We'll get new economic updates in march. All publishing houses will bring out their books about last fiscal year this month. Lets wait till then. Start with history or polity. They cant be hushed up in last minute.
PS: current affairs are very important for mains but not that significant for prelims

Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights
Issues, etc.

Administrative and Legislative reforms before 1857:

-Governor of Bengal was nominated as governor general for all three presidencies.
Warren Hastings was first such governor general.
-A supreme court was established in Calcutta.

Hi All

Any online websites where information related to environment and ecology is given. Any books i should buy for that? Please mention. Thanks in advance.
@venkatesh561 Go for PD SHARMA ecology. Besides this you can subscribe to down to earth monthly. Look no rocket science questions are in environment, you need to know what a common man must know about ecology and environment. What is being done for all these things you are also supposed to know.

Regarding polity in CSAT paper last year question were much easy for example autonomy of Supreme Court, Adjournment motion in parliament total polity questions were 18 only. I would like to emphasis that blindly following books do not yield result be very specific when you prepare for UPSC.

4 polity i would suggest read Laxmikanth....n u can read D D Basu 2 get a v good language....n 4 Parliament plz refer Subash Kashyap.........Laxmikanth covers a lot of things beyond the Constitution.......in my opinion if 1 has read Modern India it will be easy 2 understand the historical perspectives of Constitutional Development

bhai kya lakh rupay ki baat kahi apne.

agar ho ske to topics post krenge jo polity ke liye imp.ho ya jo lakshmikanth me pdhne ho.

CHARTER ACT 1813:

1. Trade monopoly of east India Company was ended and trade with India was thrown open to all British subjects.
2. Trade in Tea and trade with China were still exclusive to the company.
3. The government and the revenues of India still continued to be in the hands of the company.
4. The company continued to appoint its officials in India.

// All the acts starting from the regulating act of 1773 until the revolt of 1857 have to be seen through the prism of gradual subjugation of the East India Company to the British Government.
East India Company, a profit making imperialist organization, slowly gave way to the colonization and systematic wealth drain from India.
