This is the simplest question that I can answer. For civils preparation, let alone grade b, even some non interview posts in ssc like cag, cgda are much much better than PO.

nope. got very less in mains. infact wrote very less in mains paper. So, if you read my post in previous post about cutoffs, you will understand it is impossible for guys like me to clear final cutoff for selection. I'll give my best & hope for postal or rpf. Even that seems far fetched now.

In 2013 exam ofcourse as I already mentioned, I am reserving the first rank & you guys choose between 2nd & 1000th rank

1. the total no of posts available through IAS and allied services
2. scheme of preliminary test
3. how is geography as an optional?

Dono ko saath mein karo bhai. SSc ke liye ek saal ki zaroorat nahi hain. Civils paper 2 & SSC prelims ko saath saath karo. Syllabus zyadatar milta ulta hain. SSC General awareness ke liye GS paper 1 kaafi hain.
August mein SSC tier 2 hain aur uss samay dus din ke liye thoda maths karke exam dena. Kaafi hain boss. Baaki time civils pe dhyan do

1. Around 1000
2. Two Objective papers of 200 marks each (general studies & reasoning, aptitude)

@TRUE--WARRIOR does the new GS Mains syllabus have a less emphasis on current affairs? It looks to me as more text book based traditional syllabus. Am I correct or am I misinterpreting it ? Except for the Science & Tech, and Eco, I think current affairs is lesser.

Please comment.

Welllll seems some members are so overconfident that they are predicting there selection in CSE 2013 exam. One person who i know personally a gold medalist of IIT kanpur, told me while he was preparing that UPSC will plead me to join as IAS. He failed again and again and than quit the CSE dream. This is the way UPSC treats the overconfident peoples. I do not understand why people make these type of comments. Be polite and do what you can rest let be decided by UPSC. Hope someone will not make this advice as a personal issue. If someone is offended that I am not sorry.
