Hello Friends,

I shall be graduating from my MBA in April 2013 and shall be joining TCS after my sabbatical period. I had work-ex of 41 months before my MBA and left as an IT Analyst. My last performance ratings were : A,A,A, D (As i left for higher studies).. I would like to know the below things:
1. What salary range i can expect once i report back to TCS New Delhi (My base branch)?
2. What all good MBA roles are offered to associates joining back in TCS New Delhi?
3. I am looking for work in GCP (Global Consulting Practices) profile. Would like to know some more details about the same, if someone knows.

Looking forward for your replies. Thanks a lot !!
I had a question regarding LWP actually ...fr all those who r availing lwp..will their band fr this yr be released? After getting released from the project, D band is kinda custom in my team...I hope band does not gets released in my case coz I think tat shall be considered in case i join bak..hv all d approvals done! can some one please share some insight?
@dvchinmaya and seniors

From where can we get the list of Tier 1 and Tier 2 colleges as rated by TCS?

How is XISS HRM rated by TCS?

@megha6788
Whenever you will leave for sabbatical period, TCS shall have record of all performance bands of yours. Once you report, it will consider them in deciding your future roles and salary package. However, i am not sure whether TCS considers only the last band (which apparently falls C/D in most of the cases) or it considers performance in all bands.

But one thing for sure, performance band will be considered.. Hope it helps

@Preeti_L thanx...actually we had a pre-joining seminar in our college, and they have asked us to improve our business skills or learn some foreign languages before joining. Do you think learning a foreign language(I am thinking of spanish) will help in getting onsite opportunities?? I am planning to start it seriously as it has been told by the HR itself! What is your opinion??

If u r joining as a ASE-Trainee...then no need of any language courses. Just relax..
They say a lot of things but situation is quite different inside...u will know what i mean within few months of joining..

Learning a new language is definitely an add-on. But one cannot guarantee its usefulness. Depends solely upon your client. To kill time as of now, you can take it up.
And as far as onsite opportunities are concerned, let me tell you there are several clauses to it. Everything depends upon the area you are in, your project and the requirements there in.
@Rockyan
@Preeti_L Thank u so much for patiently answering the queries! 😃

Focus on ILP...and nothing else.

@Rockyan You can contact any HR for that info.Its Tier 2.
@urwithdevesh 1)Salary depends on the college category considered by TCS.Considering ur 3 yrs 5 months of prev exp and good bands :for Tier 1 Colleges sal range 9-10.Tier 2:8-9.But not sure just prediction. 2)Designation again College dependent Tier 1:Business Analyst ,Tier 2 : System Analyst u may get .But if u r lucky u may get Assistant Consultant but probability is very less. Usaully u can get Financial Analyst,Risk Analyst etc depending on ur previous doamin exp and specialisation in MBA. 3)GCP hires people mostly from Tier 1 Colleges.Based on ur capability u can enter due course of time if ur from Tier 2 college.
@urwithdevesh If u cud mention ur last drawn salry while leaving and college in which u r doin MBA,the salary can be predicted much precisely.

Currently, What is notice period in TCS for resignation? Is there any obligation that in notice period I've to report everday to my supervisor? Though, currently,I'm unallocated.

My MBA prog will commence fron 15th June and I'll complete my 2 yrs on 1st July. How can I manage this situation to avoid paying 50K? I need work-ex certificate.

What are the formalities for resignation? Whether 1/2 days enough for resignation process?

You can't completely avoid it but you can talk to your HR and they can help you to reduce the amount to say 20K or something... What do you mean by 1/2 days ?

For resigning, you must serve a notice period. Better talk to your HR.
