In case u have interest in Banking, u can try giving the exam. And even the results will take 5 - 6 months for the results to come. By that time u would already have written CAT.
I understand when ur project is bad, one just starts looking for multiple options . Anything that might provide immediate exit from the job
I am also on the same boat . But its better to stay focussed on 1 goal (in ur case CAT) and try to crack it. All the best 
P.S: I am interested in Banking. So gonna write SBI PO this April

@jafri.azhar7 yeah i know it would take next 6-7 months for recruitment. in that case I will mentally prepare myself for CAT'14 and GMAT. 😛 focusing only IIMs / ISB. but atleast 2 saal sukoon se padh toh paunga. and yeah, i have much interest in banking. :)

waise some of my friends' friends are there in BANK jobs as IT officers. they're quite happy with their job.. sometimes frustrated due to NO WORK at all.. :P
1 of those is interested to go for MBA and gets enough time to prepare well for CAT'13. office me 9 hours mein se sirf 2-3 hours kaam hota hai baki time padhai/masti.. :)
also no transfers in case of IT officers.
so thts good opportunity too, if we can score well in IBPS IT officers exam.

Regarding PO I dint have much idea but thanks puys for making me aware of the actual situation of PO jobs. :)
I'll research more on that now and take a wise decision if i would get chance to take any! 😛 ;)

haan yaar really dekha jaaye toh har jagah aj kal same hi situation ho jati hai! except a few very good companies or a few PSUs like ONGC/IOCL/BPCL etc. :)
but unfortunately hum badnasib IT guys k liye wahaan vacancies are quite a few.

hope nothing much is required for aptitude/Language/Reasoning skills since we have recently appeared for CAT and other such management entrance exams.. but we just need to focus on General Awareness (Marketing & Computer proficiency) :)
do consider Upkar Prakashan's guide for the same, to add 4 moons to your preparation. 😛 😁

hi, I am on study leave from TCS will be joining in July 2013 .I have an experience of 2.2 years from TCS and I am doing M.Tech from Tier 2 college.What would be the salary hike if I had left the organization when my package was 4.24 .
@lamp Not much idea about MTec.But teh designation for BE and MTec candidates will b same at the time of joinin TCS with slight vary in variable pay.3.16 for BE, 3.36 for MTec rite ? If ur study duration is considered as exp,then ur salary may go up.But exact salray we cant predict predict.It depends on ur exp, last band u got,ur superviosr feedback etc.

No one can predict the exact joining dates except TCS. Anyways, it might b around Oct-Dec.
