@dvchinmaya : Had to happen. Many people are on bench and are not being utilized at all. Some ppl dont take a project even if they are offered by RMG . So its an intelligent decision to increase the productivity by the getting the bench guys into project rather than increasing the bench strength even more

Based on the college grade ur pay scale will be decided.Desig will be Assistant System Analyst for the those who studied in Tier2 colleges and Assistant Business Analyst for Tier 1 usually.

and do we have any control during refitment or totally on RMG mercy?? 
@getz_1233 U can contact any HR for the grade of the college.If u mention the college name, I can also tel through my knowledge.Refitment depends on ur previous salary,experince and also bands u hv got earlier.Its done by IOU HR basically with others.U can ask for the role in which u r interested/well versed with and also can negotiate ur comapensation in that discusssion only.RMG does not play a significant role here as they will have to give the info abt requirements matching ur profile/role as usaul they do.If u r not satisfied with the salary/role, u can resign if u hv any other offers from campus.
@dvchinmaya Hi Chinmaya, your answer was useful to me too and one more query. I have consecutive A bands and good performance with project. And I am with 3 years experience. Now if I do MBA from Tier 2 college and join back how much % hike can I expect ?
@RaghavSiva I think ur sal ranges between 5.5 and 6 nw.You may get 8+ if u do MBA from Tier 2 college.U can also negotiate after coming back.

Apart from IIMs/XLRI/NITIE/NMIMS/FMS/MDI/JBIMS etc may i know which other institutes fall in tier-I category B schools in TCS?
How about NIRMA (Ahmd) / PDPU / TAPMI / KJ Somaiya / LBSIM Delhi / FORE?
are they all in Tier 2?
Esp'lly, I would like to know the category of NIRMA institute of Management in TCS.. in which tier does it lie? plz share if u have an idea..

Consider a typical Software Engineer(SE) working in TCS or any other service comapny with 3 yrs of exp.His salary will be between 4.5 & 5(LPA).If he/she moves to other service company,there will be 30-40% hike usually or minimum 20%.If moved to product based company,hike will be still more.

Salary :4.5 , Exp:3 yrs
After Changing the job to other Service Comp:Salary becomes (20% hike) 5.4
After Changing the job to Proudct based firm:Salary becomes (30% hike) 5.85
If he wants to join MBA program of 2 yrs by spending minimum 10L,he has to think in such a way that:
If he would have spent these 2 yrs in IT industry only,(Total exp : 5 yrs)
Salray in the same service comapany would have become : 6.5
2 yr earnings : 9 L
After Changing the job to other Service Comp:Salary becomes (30% hike) 8.45
After Changing the job to Proudct based firm:Salary becomes (40% hike) 9.10
If a typical SE with 3yrs exp wants to do MBA,he has to choose such a campus where he will be getting placed with minimum 10L.
According to my opinion guys with 3 to 4 yrs exp in IT have to think wisely before selecting the college for MBA.
P.S:Its totally based on assumption of numbers and completely my personal view.

and for a guy like me who has 2 years experience as in March 2013 in TCS; is it preferrable to join the average (tier 2) b-school? acc'g to you? i had taken CAT'12 and scored 88%ile. have got 12 calls from average b-schools like NIRMA, FORE, LBSIM, TAPMI, KJS, GIM etc. avergae package in these institutes varies from 7 to 8.5 LPA. m not at all happy with my current project. I won't get release upto 1 more year. i actually wish to take CAT'13 with more efforts and make it to tier 1.. but the same won't be possible if i stay in this same project.. due to excessive work pressure and not-so-good work culture/environment. and i can not switch as i am currently working in mainframe cobol for banking project, which is very rare combination in other companies. yeah if b in TCS, then i will have opportunity to change technology but i will have to invest 1 more year in this proj which is hell for me. :(

is MBA from an average b-school worth it, as of now for the current scenario of mine, or shall i mnetally prepare myself to spend 1-1.25 years more here and try via CAT'2013...

@bittu101 Yeah!! current working environment should be good to prepare well.2 yrs exp kinda ok to choose tier 2 B schools.But u hv to check genuinely the placements that these schools boast.Moreover TAPMI,GIM charges around 12L for the program.U hv to think about ROI also.
If u r confident enough of scoring high in CAT'13 , u can try .But if u convert any of ur calls this time only it will also be better option as ur workin envi n tech are nt in favour of the situation.

@dvchinmaya sometimes I think to try my best to make into bank job (IT officer / PO) via upcoming IBPS Specialist officers exam and SBI PO exam?
is it good decision if i am able to fetch such bank jobs? i mean not for career? but for CAT preparation? :)
