As per my requirements, then it should be Hyderabad.........coz it has the best balance of all criteria.
I am currently in TCS Hyderabad...the best thing about TCS hyderabad is that there are 4 offices and all are pretty close to each other...Also Hyderabad is the cheapest city after Kolkata...
On the negative side, many ppl are on bench, approx 1000- 1200 of them as of now...so, decide accordingly!!!
PM me for any specific query about TCS , Hyderabad...
I have heard that TCS walkin is there at gurgaon tomorrow for software developer...plz reply if anybody has any info..I have 2.5 years of work exp in C,Linux Thanks
I am on study leave for doing Executive MBA from MDI Gurgaon...My MBA is over and I am planning to join back TCS.. I have total of 6.7 yrs exp including 1 yrs MBA period... what is the salary i shud expect to get ?
At an average, they'd offer you an Asst. Consultant Role at 8.5 yrs' exp. (if you're not an MBA i.e.)
Package would depend on your current package, they might offer you a 30-35% hike. Assuming avg case salary at 8.5 yrs =12 lpa Offer package may be 15-16 lpa.

Congrats for the convert For resignation , u ll have to pay the bond amount around 50 k . Its possible to request ur HR so that u dont need to pay the bond amount or it might be reduced . But thats very rare and tough . Since u have only 3 months of work ex (which is on the bench only) , u can better resign without paying the bond money . If u do so , u will not get ur work ex certificate . But 3 months , that too on bench will hardly be considered anywhere . So first try to persuade ur HR to let u leave without the bond amount . And in case they dont agree
P.S : Seniors if anything is wrong , then correct it :grin:

Dude, congrats for the NITIE convert!!!
3 month work ex is not at all going to be considerd during placements...so, better not to take the work- ex certificate...in that case, you don't have to pay anything...tell ur RMG/ HR that you are resigning, that's it!!!
P.S: In case you are "courageous", just stop coming to the office...let the salary come for a few months...a time will come, when they will call you and then tell them that you are not ever returning back...

the college starts in mid june. Should i inform mu rmg now or later, is there any serving period bfr resigntn. is the resign without bond pay is possible
I am a System Engineer at TCS (Telecom domain-functional)with 2.2 years of work-ex.Wrote CAT and other exams this year but failed to score well(85.xx%).I want to do MBA-HR specifically. If i prepare for next year, what work profile should i pick here to gain a RELEVANT work-ex for HR.Also,i will be 3.2 years experienced next year.Would 3+ work-ex prove a hurdle for MBA-HR?

Inform him now . That will be better . Yeah u can resign without paying the bond money . Just that u will not get experience certificate .

As already said by puys, there is no need to resign ... and no need to tell anyone ... let the salary come ... it may continue to come for 6-7 months ... .... but ... there is a downside to it ... pls never think to join TCS again ... never in ur life ... reason is obvious.

Hello... i am currently in the final year of B.Tech, and have been placed in TCS ! I gave CAT last year with not so good results, and I am aiming for CAT 2012. We have been told that the our ILP will start sometime in August..however I am very confused whether to join TCS or not..because IT is certainly not my cup of tea ( my branch is Biotechnology) and I also think that it may affect my preparation as I won't get much time. In case I do join, it is just for getting work experience, and I hope to remain on bench after the ILP , as I am least interested in doing project. However when i finally resign in 2013 (after i convert in a good college), I will have to pay the bond money ...I am not able to decide whether to join TCS or not, considering this is my sole job offer... Please help me get out of this dilemna

First things first . If IT is not what interests you , then try a different line . Ppl tend to get frustrated later . A lot of my friends r from different branches and dont like the coding work .Try to get a different job maybe in ur sector or pharma (makes profile different from IT guys). Even if it pays a little lesser , u ll not end up being frustrated and lost . As far as MBA is concerned , its about how much good u r with maths and verbal . If u feel comfortable in them , then u can crack CAT this year itself . Moreover write mock tests as well . Be confident that u can get it this year . Make up ur mind that 2012 is the only option . Only then will u give ur best shot . Else will always have this option of 2013 in mind . I was the victim of the same theory last year

Best strategy is to get an IT job and prepare for CAT. Whether u r on bench or working religiously will hardly matter after MBA. It just duznt matter if u r Biotech grad...BTech/BE in IT and a job in IT are 2 different things and do not go hand in hand. Now u may decide urself.
