TCS Recruitment : Jobs, Salary, Interview Questions

One cannot generalize on just that basis. I believe it depends on the Bschool the employee has graduated from. I know of people who have graduated from good Bschools. I is into a managerial role. The other is in a corporte unit.

Did they go on sabbatical? Afaik.. goin on LWP in TCS is very risky...u may land a job just a notch higher..nothing big ...
Wat makes u think that ppl dont rejoin?
Post MBA, U wont do any development/testing/support.
Pkg and profile will change ( tho not an obligation on them), so its upto a candidate to rejoin or not....and many rejoin.

I know that ppl rejoin ..... Package ll change . But not necessarily the profile . As i said i know few guys who came back to join after their MBA (from IMT - Nagpur , NIT - Surathkal ,etc) and they are now in coding . They do the same work as i do . The package increased though . Though the colleges i mentioned are not the best ones . It will not be the same for everyone . But still , they told me , LWP is not a thing they would suggest . Better to be recruited from campus ..... Obviously it is the candidate's decision at the end ........

They mite be doin coding now but for sure wont code for too long( unless they are absol. dumb and cannot communicate that to HR)
IMO........
1. If clg is among top 35...leave company.
2. If clg is not....then LWP is a better choice.

IT sector is not that bad as freshers usually feel...infact after Inv. Banking...it provides u wid great opportunities and career.

I hv often heard ppl say..." IT jobs are sooo boring....I want to do some challenging job so will go for MBA " .... then they choose some MAT clg and ruin their career.

Nice info . Actually so true . IT sector aint bad . Chances are good . But u must be a go getter . U cant sit at ur place and cry about things to happen . If one has the willingness to take initiative , chances of growth are good . Thats what have learnt in 6 months at TCS

P.S : Even m an MBA aspirant and wish to join IT after MBA

Not only @ TCS, but one must be willing to put some serious efforts in life as well. Only then good luck will/might make a difference.

Work hard for CAT....CAT is the main thing for u ( not project bands/ratings ). PM incase u want more gyaan 😃

I have around 16 months of work experience in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. I will be quitting anytime soon, and will be doing my MBA. Now my bond period of 24 months isn't over yet, and if I quit before it's over, I have to pay Rs. 50,000/- as bond amount. Now I have heard that the bond amount can be negotiated to something lesser since I have completed 16 out of 24 months. Is this true, and how should I approach HR to have the bond amount negotiated?

In the same boat as u buddy......Some of my ILP friends have told me of cases wherein the entire bond amount has been waived off.......now considering the fact that we are going for higher education and not switching over to sum other company plus having served almost 2/3rd of our bond period, i think we can make a strongly fair case to the HR regarding waiving off/reducing our bond amount.

P.S:-I think you are going to SIBM rite?......Considering the fact that its starting in June, when are you planning to put in your papers??

Yes. I'm unallocated ie with RMG as of now. So I guess the one month notice period might not apply. If I get some clarity regarding this, I'd put my papers right away. Also, would the unallocated months reflect in our resignation letters?

Well since we are talking about TCS chennai , i thought i might share my experience with the resignation process.

First of all, yes the months one is on bench are counted in work experience. So no worries on that front. Now for resigning , the notice period is one month and you are expected to tender your resignation to your PM through mail. Notice period is entirely on the PM's discretion, so if you are on good terms with him/her then you can get a couple of weeks waived off there.

Now for the bond amount negotiation, it entirely depends on the HR. I couldn't bargain at all but then i had just completed slightly over a year. Ditto for another friend last year. So from what i have experienced Chennai HR folks aren't that accommodating.

Still, what's the harm in trying ..maybe talking in tamil works

Lol.....again we are in the same boat it seems......even i am unallocated since Jan end......don't worry about the unallocated months part not reflecting.........i have seen the work-ex letters of one of my friends who had resigned and there is no mention whatsover about the work-ex details.....just the duration is mentioned i suppose.....so relax and chillax......:)

As far as the 1 month notice period being applicable to unallocated resources, even i am not quite sure about it......Will try to confirm it from one of my friends who is in HR and you too try the same.....PM me whenever you get any kind of info on the same.....Cheers....:))

Ha ha ha 😁 Was mentally rehearsing the same 😃 Talking in Tamizh with an "I am paavam" look on face

What is the duration for ASA - Trainee to ASA in TCS. Also how long would it take to become BA from ASA. Thanks

ASA is assistnt system analyst...this role is given to MBA candidates of CAT2 categry...

BA is the designation as well as role....BA as a designation is given to MBA candidates of CAT1 category with prior experience of 3 years and above....BA role can be given to any employee....even a B Tech can have that role.......

An employee with ASA desgnation takes atleast 3 years to get a BA designation.......

What would be the designation given to a MBA grad from Cat 2 college but on sabbatical leave if he/she wishes to join TCS back ?

Is it ASA considering Cat 2 constraint
OR
BA considering his experience on sabbatical leave ?

I have similar question. Kindly spare some time to answer.

What are the roles offered to people on sabbatical completing mba Finance joining back?

Does TCS offers hardcore finance ?

How does package is decided after joining back?

As per my requirements, then it should be Hyderabad.........coz it has the best balance of all criteria.

This is according my analysis and would include a lot of caveats

distance between office and residence
more chances of savings
living costs
work exposure

What will be the in-hand salary in Infosys if the CTC is around 7.5L per year? I need only a rough estimate.

Guys, Need Help.
8.5 years of experience, what designation would you get? What salary can one expect?
Anybody can help with this info. Thanks.

What about some who has 5.5 years experience and is joining as a Business Analyst (ITA). Firstly is ITA the correct designation and secondly what pay package can be expected TCS/Infy/Wipro.

You don't have a choice.. It has to be ITA if you are less than 7 years in industry.
