Puys hav asked abt choosin between IT and Bank PO. My 2 cents
IT JOB v/s BANK PO:
BANK PO PROS :
1. Job safety ..... and thats all. 
BANK PO CONS :
1. Unprofessionalism in almost each process and within 75% PSU bankers.
2. Horrible work culture ... in simple words ... any educated and intelligent fellow wont tolerate how these PSU banks function .... those 50+ aged bosses leave no stone unturned in making ur life a living hell. Reason behind is that they were also given similar treatment wen they were young. So prathaa chali aa rahi hai.
3. Paltry salary .... a fresher gets a pkg of 4 LPA ( effectively ... that CTC figure doesnt really give u the correct picture )
4. Growth Potential ... so called Fast Track will give u ur first promotion after 3 yrs.
5. Timings ..... 10 to 7 may be 8 .. may be 9 ( generally )
6. Onsite .... yeh onsite kya hota hai 1 bank mein
7. Profile switch .... minimum 5 yrs.
8. Training .... NO training or just a mere completion of formalities ... its believed ki har naya bank employee apni maa k pet se banking seekh k aata hai.
IT SOFTWARE / MGMT PROS :
1. Salary ... far far ahead of bankers
2. Professionalism ... I know many IT guys complain now ... but believe me ... things are a lot better compared to a bank.
3. Learning / Training ... lot of opportunities.
4. Growth Potential ... huge ... 2 switches among MNCs take u beyond 10 LPA ... and close to middle mgmt.
5. 5 days working .... rarely its 6.
IT SOFTWARE / MGMT CONS :
1. Can involve transfers/ travels frequently.
2. Hardworkers mite complain of time spent on bench...tho most love it
3. Stress ... but then its there at all jobs tho magnitude may vary.
I m well aware guys in IT mite not agree wid this.
IT guys r also suggested to confirm watever I hv written abt bank po job wid a banker close 2 ur age ...but not wid some uncle plz
I have been in IT .... I m in a bank ... will surely be again in IT. ;)

i m also an engineer working in psu bank
work culture is pathetic
and staffs are ill trained and not tech savvpathetic and fed up of this culture
Currently i am eating TCS salary while warming the "bench".....
Was working in Bangalore for around 10 months......got released from that prj in Jan and now trying for a prj in Mumbai and simultaneously preparing for GD/PI........

Let me tell you something before i specifically answer this question .
There are three kind of engineers
1 With exceptional Technical skills
2 Who has moderate technical but dream big (Most of us fall in this category)
3 Who doesn't care about anything and the only motivation is "MONEY" .
First kind of people should never even consider joining TCS . Try for some product based company even if it is small but the exposure you will get in those company will be "WORLD CLASS" and where they will actually realize there real potential .
Second kind of person in which most of us will fall , also think twice before joining TCS . I have been working here for almost two years and i am telling you from the bottom of my heart that "it's is absolutely must to have a good manager and good project " which is scarce . You will ruin your life if you get into a bad project and most of them are bad. By bad i mean Old , obsolete technologies , No opportunities , No motivation .. you will feel depressed and dejected .So better idea will be to work somewhere else where you get opportunities where you can excel and flourish .
Third kind of person who does care what they do , i mean all they care about is there pay cheque they should join TCS . Even if they don't bother about what they do they will not get much salary and onsite opportunities are totally dependent on you luck .
So verdict is

I wish to know if this is valid explanation by them ?if not what are my chances to get proper explanation. also is ITA same as business analyst in terms of role responsibility?

what about people like us .. who are not from really good universities... and the only job we've got is in TCS.. and i do have good technical skills.. what do i do?

Friends i have less below first division marks in 12th grade. Due to this i wasn't shortlisted for campus placements in Infy and TCS. Would they again have throughout >60% criteria for Business Analyst roles after MBA ?
