I beg to disagree with you ..TCS is good company for a fresher to join ... It all depends on an individual how he/she is able to exploit the opportunities at hand...you always get chance to switch domain if you try hard and show aspirations ...I have seen many who have successfully swichted their domains as per their liking.... So its not justified to say TCS is bad company ....

you cannot be more wrong.
After 1 year : 3.49 for rating =4, 3.59 for 5 rating( fairly impossible)
3.42 for rating=3 ( most common rating).
After 2 years you'll be lucky if you touch 4 (even with rating=4), I am quite sure rating = 3 is not coming close to that.
Also, herd some news that TSC is not going to provide pay like at the end of this financial year i.e. in april this year ( some interview on ntdv with N. Chandra).
Good luck folks.
hi everyone...

sorry dude, but I disagree with you...
you can clearly tell the RMG that you want to go to Delhi/ Kolkata/ Chennai or any other location...They will ask for the reason and whatever you say they will tell that it's not possible to take a transfer so early...But if you are adamant, they will eventually transfer you, though it may take 2-3 months...A couple of my friends have done the same...But then you will have to be really adamant for whatever you are desiring....

TRUE and FALSE

At first place...u wont be selected if u say that I want ONLY TCS Delhi as IT industry req Mobility.
Secondly, if u do have that common sense to say that there are no mobility issues...u will be in TCS (other things not withstanding). However the cases wich u mentioned depend only and only on requirements...and NOT on requests/personal reasons. If u wanna come to Delhi and there is a requirement then yes sooner or later u will be transferred.
If its already overcrowded then NO.
One cant say that I m on bench in TCS XYZ so plz allow me to be on bench in TCS Delhi
... Its all DEMAND & SUPPLY and guys confuse that wid RMG's soft corner.
...adamancy wont do anythng.

Sir jee, you are talking abt Demand & Supply...But let me tell you that the no of projects, TCS undertakes is huge and also it's not that they are distributed only Chennai/ Mumbai/ B'lore etc...Requirements are there in all other places also...
And what I meant by Adamant was that you need to follow the RMG again and again...If they tell you initially that there is no chance for a transfer and you stop pestering them after hearing this, you will never be transferred...You need to approach them again and again if you really want a transfer...

Re-iterating...if there is a requirement...RMGs can help.
If there is no requirement tab jitna chaahe pestering kare koi...it wont be useful.
Yes, u r correct that in general , IT MNCs have requirements at almost all centers so one usually gets a transfer . However guys take it the wrong way...they think " I kept on requesting RMG and see I succeeded"

PM me for further discussion on this thing.
I personally think TCS is the best place for a fresher who aspire for higher studies where you get sufficient amount of time to do your preparation for CAT, GMAT or GATE. It is also up to you to pick more activities or reposiblities to balance your preparation. It is also in your hands if you want to boost your performance ratings.

That depends on project u r in.
Usually 5 days in a week
Working hours not defined as such...still 7-8 on an average.
Officially its 9. Timings again depend on project.
TCS has a good work culture. My suggestion wud however be that
u try to get into a finance firm like Big 4 consultancy firms.
If u feel dissatisfied u can always join IT company.
PM me for further queries if any.
