Tapmi Batch of 2010-2012

Hi all, I converted TAPMI on 11th but am in a dilemma as to join it or not.
I am an engg grad with decent acads.
Joined an IT company in Dec '09 and got trained in SAP. Working on a project since last 1.5 months.
Was wondering if I should break my bond and get into TAPMI this year or wait for an year's experience as right now I would be considered a fresher...
Also considering the present scenario in my job I might not be able to manage some great calls next year.
Would be great someone could plz suggest something.

Let me tell you, some people work in SAP after doing there PG, you are very lucky to get such an opportunity right now, plus after working in SAP for an year or two, you can expect some good calls based on your profile only..
i would suggest you work for a while in SAP, learn functional and then go for an MBA, you will be able to find a good job in pre-sales in SAP, which is a damn good profile.
Maybe a little off topic, but
Can someone tell me how best to commute from Chennai to Manipal ?? I guess there's a train..but that's way too slow..

There are 2 trains frm Chennai to Mangalore. Mangalore Mail and West Coast Express. The journey takes approximately 19 hrs. Frm Mangalore, you can get loads of buses to Manipal. Get off at Tiger Circle in Manipal and ask any auto to take u to TAPMI new campus. If u come thru Bangalore, there are many buses to Mangalore and Udupi apart from buses to Manipal. My suggestion-if u coming thru Bangalore, take a KSRTC Volvo because the roads get horrifying in the monsoon and other buses will be a backbreaking journey.

To add to the point about the KSRTC Volvos, its recommended that you start by night as you will reach Manipal within 7-8 hours, and you can avoid any discomfort that you might face during the ghats if you travel by day. Many volvos now come with a single-seater, so that it should not be a problem for travellers who want their personal space, especially girls.

Please go back and read the previous pages....it has been discussed more than once.

hi to all prospective Tapmians....

anyone joining...from Lucknow for 2010-12.....

do reply...

I tried calling TAPMI on Friday and Saturday. But no answer on Sudip Sir's number given on the website. May have to wait till tomorrow morning / afternoon.

Hey guys,
Checking from the previous posts, the no of waitlist candidates should be at least 400 at present. Is there anyone here who has got a larger waitlist no? I dont intend to make this another full blown discussion/analysis session, I just hope to get an informative reply from a person who found out from the horses mouth that he is waitlisted >400. Thanks.

I'm not sure about any luggage limit, as you might have to put your suitcases in the luggage compartment at the side of the volvo, but I'm sure you can carry two big suitcases along with a smaller handbag which you can take with you to your seat.

About getting a cab from Tiger circle, some senior will be able to help you out. There will definitely be autos from the main bus stand to any part of Manipal

Puys from Bangalore who'll be joining TAPMI this year, please PM me... we can get to know each other even before we go to Manipal 😃

I dont think thre is any luggage limit in Volvos, you can stuff as much stuff as u can in their boot. As for cabs, there isnt a taxi stand at Tiger Circle though u can spot cabs waiting there occasionally. You contact Mr. Suresh for a cab at manipal on 934141813.

Travel light as most of your daily use stuff is available in the campus shop itself.

There is already a TAPMI group created for your batch which is existing from 1st May and has many members from 2010-12 batch as well as your senie batch (2009-11).. I would request to close the above group so that we have just one group for your batch...
Details of the facebook and orkut groups created for your batch is already mentioned in one of the posts on Page 1.
Join the below group/community which has been created just for your batch and would give you a chance to interact with your senies..

Yes but would it be any harm for us to have a group only for our batch?

This group is only for batch 2010-2012

I think you need to go to your college and then may be university for that..

In mba lingo, we call it sub-unit orientation which we herein @ TAPMI dont promote.

We have planned integrated processes set up for you all once you join in. There is no point in crowding like this at this point of time. Trust your seniors dear ; if they are telling something there must be some logic behind it.

Search if your senie batch have any such their 'own' group in facebook/orkut or not.
