ESSAY ON UNSC REFORMS
Even after 60-70 years of the formation of united nations the UN Security council still represents the geopolitical order after world war2 .Only 5 countries USA,UK,RUSSIA,CHINA AND FRANCE are there in it . India and many other developing economies are demanding reforms in the unsc so that it represent the current geopolitical order.
Main reasons why countries are asking for reform is the large North -south divide where still only countries on northeren hemisphere represent in UNSC. Secondly is the changing geopolitical order where countries like India ,Brazil ,Germany,Japn also are moving towards great power and shoul be a part of decision making on important issues happening around the world. Thirdly there has been questions on the crediblity of UNSC when these countries interferred in LIBYA and SYRIA .Fourthly India being a country of 130 crores and contributing in large amount in economic activity needs to be there. Fifthly these reforms have been long overdue and was Unsc was expanded only once only non permamnent members have increased not the permannent.
There are many reasons why reforms are not heppening is due to no poltical will of these P5 countries. Secondly there are many groups looking for permanent seats in UNSC such as G4, African groupe etc.
Given the circumstances there is definitely a need to reform UNSC so that a organisation that are considered to look into political and economic issues represent UNSC in a more just manner rather then dominance of p5 countries.Thus to bring in reforms other members of UN have to put pressure on these P5 countries and more discussions and deleberations need to be held in UN

Indian police system is legacy of britishers where the people who revolted against the oppressive policies of britishers where put into jail and tortured . But that seems to have contined even after the britishers left India. We hear a lot of news that the prioner dies inside the jail or was tortured ,or committed suicide.All this things put a big question mark about the way prioners are kept inside jails.
This calls for new concept called open prisions that have been built in 1-2 states in India like in rajasthan. The concept of open prisons is that they are allowed to live with thier families so that they are not socially cut from the families . In this method of prison the main motto to change the mindset of prisoners so that once they are realeased from the jail they are able to mix with the society and become a responsible citzen. In these jails prisoners go for work and earn a decent salary as per work .They are allowed to learn new skills so that they can find jobs once released.They are also allowed to go outside prison and can come back in evening.
Only states can make rules for the people who will shifted to open prisons seeing the behaviour , conduct and who are mentally and physically fit.
These prisons have a great impact on life like psychological benfits as freedonm to move stops them from getting frustrated . Economically they earn money from the activities they perform giving them a new look of life.They also learn new skills so that they use them once they are release and get job. Open jails also reduces occupancy of normal jails.Its more of rehablitative process that the prisoners go through thus chaning him completely.
